Gabapentin Needed

My prescription says take 3 capsules by mouth daily as needed for nerve pain. Should I take all three at once or space them out thru the day? This is for peripheral neuropathy due to chemo treatments for cancer in bones & liver. Also should I take vicodin with this medication ## Have you asked your doctor or pharmacist? Does anyone have severe stomach cramps with this medicine? I started with 600 2 pills 3 times a day. ## You started with that high of a dosage? That could be causing your problem. Normally, this medication is started at a lower dosage and slowly titrated up, as needed. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight gain. Have you discussed it with your doctor? I started taking Gabapentin 300mg x 3 daily on May 13,015 for severe shingles pain in my ear, mouth and face. June 16,2015 I began having memory lapses not walking straight as well as anxiety. My doctor told me to go off cold turkey. I was to be taking tylenol for the pain as it was not as severe. I also take .5 mg Lorazepam for anxiety up to 2 times per day as needed for my copd depression. I also take .25 Zoloft once daily. I had forgotten to take my Zoloft for three days last week. On Gabapentin for 2 months. Started at 900 mgs (3 doses 3xs/day) for anxiety after getting off Vicoden. Went down to 600/day after 1 week, then 400 3 weeks later. Having severe burning all over body, really horrific. Has anyone else experienced this? And, how much longer should I expect to ween off the 400? I’m a 72 year old who has been on 60mg Cymbalta plus 300-2400 mg gabapentin as needed for 4 years for neuropathic pain. The combination has been effective in lowering the baseline of my pain. During this time, however, I have gained a great deal of weight. Recently I’ve had aching and sometimes sharp pain near my liver. This is very concerning for me. I take 90mg of Cymbalta and 900mg of Gabapentin daily for fibromyalgia. I also take Quetiapine 100mg for insomnia nightly. I am prescribed Xanax for anxiety which I take as needed not daily. My concern is that today I took 80 mg of Adderall from a co worker and within minutes my heart was racing, I started sweating like crazy for at least a couple of hours and my pupils were dilated. I've been on the Butrans patches now for 2 months. I started on 5mg & now I'm on 20mg. I also have Amitriptyline 10mg per day which eventually will go up to 50mg... I also have Tramadol when needed... I was put on Gabapentin but they made me too dopey & they was not good for my Epilepsy either. I felt really ill off them. I suffer from nerve pain as well as stiffness and the Butrans helps with the stiffness; they don't take the major pain away but they do help... I just wish I could stop itching, it's driving me nuts. I have been on carisoprodol&nucynta for 2yrs for muscle spams & knots all over my body.I also take gabapentin&thyroid mess for hypothyroidism.Could these meds deplete potassium levels? ## Has blood work shown yours to be low? It can happen for many reasons and may not necessarily be related to any medications that you're taking. It could just simply be due to not taking in enough of it in your diet, because it can be hard to eat enough of the proper foods to meet the RDA. However, before taking a supplement, you do need to make sure that it's needed, since too much of it can also be dangerous.

I am currently taking 600mg Lyrica and 60 mg Cymbalta. 10 mg Tramadol as needed. How long does someone have to stay on Lyrica for FM, DDD, Stenosis, Pain Management (from MVA 30 year old Cervical & Back Injuries). ## There is really no set time that anyone has to stay on it, per se, it's really dependent on how well it works for you and what you and your doctor decide is right and safest for you. Has it been helping your pain? Are you experiencing any problematic side effects? ## Its seems to be working. They got me up to 600mg per day. Weight gain is scaring me as I have always been thin. Does anyone have experience using Klonopin (clonazepam) to wean off of Lyrica? I know Neurontin (gabapentin) and Lyrica (pregabalin) are used to wean off of benzos. But I'm actually trying to wean off of 150mgs. Lyrica twice a day (300mgs. daily) using clonazepam. If anyone that has found using this method beneficial please let me know. I've been taking Clonazepam for about 15 years. At first, I was prescribed .25 mg twice a day. Over the years, the doses kept increasing. Now I'm at 2mg. 3x/day. Though I've been taking it as needed, like depending on what I'm doing each day. For the last couple of years, I'd take half a pill in the morning and maybe another later on. But only if I'm not doing anything important. Other days, with social activities, I'd take another dose like 2 mg. or more. I am withdrawing off of methadone. Ii have been tapering down from 80 mg to about 5 to 8 mgs a day. I take gabapentin for restless leg that started when i got down to 10 mgs. But doctor wants to taper me off of gaba b4 i finished methadone. I dont know why he is doing this but i did get clonodines .1 mg once a day at night from him since i hav to hurry up with methadone now cause actually i had to increase gaba for it to continue working and now i have even less gaba.
