i started taking this pill yesterday and i woke up today and have had the worst mood swings and panic attacks, horrible thoughts in my head, constant crying i only took two pills and its been about 6 hours since i took the last one should i go to the e.r. ? ## Hello, Smokie! This medication can cause those types of issues as side effects, when you first start taking it, but unless you are suicidal they usually don't require an ER trip. But what happened? One of the fillers in this capsule is corn starch and, as you may be aware, it is usually processed in facilities that also process wheat products, so much of it is contaminated with gluten. That means that yes, there is a possibility that there may be some in this. Are you having a problem with it? Are the effects cumulative or do they dissipate after a while, I’m taking two 300mg pills a day. one moRniNG, one night? They were assigne for spinal stenoius and a hurneated disc and a slipped disc.they work some of the time,particularly in the morning and evening.i often skip them during the day when I am more physical and the pain lessens. So should I keep taking them regularly or only when I have pain. ## They work best when taken regularly, so the medication remains in your system at a constant level. They are not cumulative, our bodies eventually process everything out. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. What do you mean Lyrica has all kinds of awful stuff in it? Gabapentin is in the same exact drug class, so you may experience the same issues with it, including the weight gain, since that is a normal side effect of this class of drugs.

My Australian Shepherd takes this for seizure disorder. He has been prescribed 1 capsule 3 times per day. Because of my work schedule, it's very difficult to dispense 3 times. I know that is optimal, but can I give him one in the morning and 2 at night? ## Unfortunately, no. That's not going to work the same way. The reason it's given spaced over the day is to try to keep a constant level of the medication in his system to prevent the seizures. Do you have a friend or neighbor that may be able to help? ## Hi I was wondering if it works well? if you have had seizuries and taking dylatin can you take gabapentin for chronic pain ## Caution is advised regarding using the Gabapentin with the Phenytoin in Dilantin, because it can increase the level of central nervous system depression and psychomotor impairment that they both can cause. Has your doctor instructed you to use them both? If so, they should be monitoring you closely and they have to take the dosage of both under careful consideration.

I found a bottle of my Gabapentin dated 3/8/2011. Since I started taking gabapentin 300mg 3 times a day. for neuropathic pain in the spine last December I have put on One stone in weight, I have watched my diet carefully but the weight still went on. It helps ease the pain but I can not afford to keep putting on weight..Any suggestions ## Unfortunately, that is a known side effect of Gabapentin, as reported by the FDA. It can also cause others, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and mood swings. You may want to ask your doctor about possibly trying Pregabalin, it is a similar medication, but may not cause you the problem with weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?
