I have been taking 100 mg of gabapentin for three weeks for neuropathy and it helped but I am feeling so down and giving mood swings so I want to stop taking it. Can I just stop it without ant problems. I'm taking a capsule so I can't cut it in half. ## After such a short period of time, you usually can, but it would be best to check with your doctor, to be safe. If you are prone to seizures, there is a risk of your experiencing them, according to FDA reports. However, you should be aware that these side effects will usually pass, once your body gets used to the medication, which generally takes about 5 to 6 weeks. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
need to see pictures of pill ## I'm sorry, but due to copyright reasons, I don't have any pictures to post for you. In addition, since this is a generic, there are quite a few on the market, manufactured by different companies and they will all have different markings to denote the manufacturer and dosage. Just to give you some examples, here are the markings and descriptions of a few of the 100mg Gabapentin products: A white capsule, with the marking G 5026. An orange and white capsule, with the marking R 665 on each half. A white capsule with the marking APO 112. A gray capsule with West-ward 991. A white and clear capsule with E 91 on each half. And there are more.... Are there any markings on the pill in question?

Is there any way to get Gabapentin in less than 100 mg pills? I have a method on weaning off from 1,200 mg a day to 100 mg total (talking to the doctor when it’s time to take 2 xs a day instead of 3 xs). ## I’m well aware that there are multiple phases during withdrawals. The first phase took 10 days for Gabapentin to equalize in my body. A week afterwards I had 2 days of Hot night sweats but was done with withdrawals after that. (At least until I lower my dose). Please respond so this can stay active and can let you know my method of weaning off safely. ## Hi Grayman, You may have success inquiring about different dosages with a local compounding pharmacy who could formulate something more suitable for your needs... I am on 100 mg gabapentin and I don't do well with side effects like not being able to sit still or sleep. ## Hello, Doug! How are you? It's odd that it would cause you to have problems sitting still, because it is often used now to treat RLS. It's also known to cause drowsiness as a side effect, by the FDA. Other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, headache and weight gain. How long have you been taking it? Is this the only medication you take?
Is there a big difference between the 100 mg and 300 mg pills? I’m currently taking 2 100 mg pills 3 xs a day (600 mg total) for a forearm injury but don’t know hos much a difference it makes between these 2 pills. If you have started at the same dose please respond if taking a stronger pill than what I am doing. ## Other than the notable difference in milligrams (potency), each pill is also going to come with a different set of inactive ingredients, otherwise known as binders and fillers. To my understanding, these seemingly inert substances can actually affect bioavailability and even cause some concern for individuals who may be hypersensitive to certain chemicals. Now I'm not saying that your experience will be anything like this, but I do feel that binders and fille...
I'd like to discuss with someone about the proper dosage of this medication. Can anyone help? ## There is really no set dosage for this, though you do need to start at a low dosage and gradually add more until you find the amount that works effectively for you. Most doctors will start with 100mgs taken 2 to 3 times a day, then go up to 300 and continue adding until they find what works for each patient. It would take a tremendous amount to OD on this, which is why so many doctors like to use it, they can take the dosage very high, without danger and it has very few side effects. Your best bet then, is to take your doctors advice on what you should be taking and how often. ## I just started gabapentin. My doctor told me to take 300 mg before bedtime for the first week and then move u...

Can I take the capsules now? ## Update: I am having good results from the Gabapentin. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? I'm glad to see that the medication is working for you. Dry product medications, such as tablets, or capsules with powder, do not go bad once expired, but they may lose some efficacy with time. Thus, it is best to be careful, and if it doesn't work as well as it should, consulting your doctor for a fresh prescription would be the best option. The side effects of this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. ## Doctor told me the two year old ones...

Gabapentin can cause these types of side effects in anywhere between 1 to 7% of the people that use it. Since it sounds like they were pretty severe and caused him problems walking, its probably not the right medication for him, or it may be too high of a dosage. ## I am a diabetic patient. I take 100 ic gabapentin 3 times/day for sciatica. Now I find that my bladder leaks about once a week which is unnerving. Has this been reported as a side effect? ## Didn't give enough information about my bladder leakage. The leakage is small and occurs in my sleep. ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been proven to help with certain types of nerve pain. What Happens If I Take 200 Mg Of Gabapentin i need to know i already took it before i knew what milligrams it was i am worried what will happen what mental effects will it have on me???? ## Hi Alicia, Were you prescribed this medication or was it someone else's? I personally don't think you should have anything to worry about as far as side effects go if you only took this one dose. Gabapentin has a half life of 5 to 7 hours. So, for example, if you took 200 mg of gabapentin Monday at 4 PM, 100 mg would still be in your system at approx. 9 to 11 PM. Generally, it can take anywhere from 5-7 half-lifes before the drug is completely out of your system (but you should stop feeling its effects before then). Gabapentin was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, and is cur...
