Does anyone know does this medication works for swollen feet and ankles? ## It helps me very much. ## I have been taking Furosemide for a couple of years now and it definately helps with swollen feet and ankles. I take 40mg twice a day. I have never had any problems taking this medicine. ## My daughter has been prescribed Furosdmide 20mg and Diamox 500 mg for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. She has been on them 7 days and so far has not had increased urination. Has anybody who has been on these drugs know how long it usually takes for this to kick in? Other information I was able to gather shows that this drug can be prescribed for hypertension (high blood pressure). I have not seen any info on this drug pertaining to low blood pressure. I was prescribed by my doctor to take 1 tablet each morning. I have a lot of lung, bone, reflex and other issues. On O2 daily now. Are there any side effects I should watch for? Also, on the same day I was prescribed to take a Potassium Chloride Micro 10meq ER tab once daily. Any suggestions? I have a lot of GI issues. ## The FDA lists the typical side effects of Furosemide as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration, and hypotension. The biggest thing to watch out for is the dehydration. Please make sure that you are taking in enough fluids each day. Are you on any other medications, or just these 2?

My Furosemide dose continues at three 20mg pills twice a day, but a change occurred with the manufacturer. It was Westward (54 840) and now it's Solco Health (V 3169). My daytime blood pressure is now dropping. Is there any correlation between this and the differences in pills? Both are 20mg tablets. ## How low is it dropping? Have you made any other changes to your diet, or lifestyle? Sometimes, as ones blood pressure gets lower, medication doses need to be lowered to keep it from going too low. Are you also making sure that you are staying hydrated? Furosemide works by removing excess fluid from the body, and if you become dehydrated, that will also cause your blood pressure to drop. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache, and increased urination.

I found a bottle of unmarked pills in my home they are off white and very small.
