I had a sever upper respiratory infection over 3 months ago. Found out I had fluid in my ears. My ears were ringing so loud. Took the regular amoxicillin til it was gone. Sent back a second time, was prescribed claritin & nasal spray. Neither worked. Went back a second time because was told I had fluid behind eardrum. Was prescribed amoxicillin- clav 500 Was feeling well for 2 days. Now, I have this constant hissing noise in left ear. Also, my ear is like stereo! Everything is LOUD ## That could be due to the infection, and it being cleared up. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Has there been any change? The typical side effects of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

EAR DROPS ## can using these ear drops cause fluid on the inner ear or dizziness, as I have had this in the past. (Meneire's Disease) ## can you use neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates and gramicidin ophthalmic solution usp for ear drops? my daughter has tubes and her ears a draining i was wondering if i could use that for ear drops. ## The instructions on my neomycin-polymyxin said nothing about shaking the bottle first. I am on it for 7 days, and am on day 3 of using it without shaking it. Will it still be effective? (I've been battling my ear infection for a very long time too, just like everyone else in this chat.) :P ## Ear drops and eye drops can both be used in the ear, according to what my cardiologist has told me, since eye drops are sterile. However, you cannot use ear d...

I am an 18 year old healthy male with no previous ear infections, only the odd cold. I've had the symptoms of Otitis Media with Effusion, OME, a buildup of fluids in the middle ear and eustachian tube, causing pressure behind the eardrum - feeling of having blocked ears, slight balance problems and headaches etc - but have only just recently become annoying and I got a diagnosis of it. The doctor prescribed corticoides to inhale, which he said should take effect within a couple weeks, and if not, adenoidectomy is a possibility. My question is could this problem have been caused by my occasional smoking over the last six months? I never touched an industrial cigarette, only joints and narghile (hookah). And at a rate of only two or three evenings a month. Basically I only rarely smok...

yesterday the doctor prescribed methyiprednisolone 4mg for inflamation. The first night I took it I was very ill, severe headache centered in the jaw areas ( migraine sufferer) rushing sound in the ears and unable to sleep. I felt horrible. Is there a way to lessen or wean one off of this horrible drug? i can't do this!!! Geneva ## If you have only taken it for one day, I'm sure it's safe to quit. Consult with you doctor, though. I thinks I really depends on why you were prescribed this. As for me.... I will never take it again!! ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and fluid retention. However, they typically go away, shortly after you finish your course of treatment. And no, if you took...

I have been having fluid in my ears since May and have take three bottles of nasial spray 2 different antibodics and 2 boxes of mucinex d and my dr order ct scan. The results says i have a thickening of the mastoid bone. What is the treatment for this and will my ears ever clear up? ## Hello, Mert! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you'r having. Such thickening is common, when someone experiences a problem that becomes chronic, like yours has. It means it has become inflamed and you may need to have a tube inserted in your ear to allow the fluid to drain. Letting it remain untreated can create the risk of nerve damage that could cause facial paralysis, meningitis and other serious health complications. Have you consulted an ENT, yet? With proper treatment, your ears ...

I have fluid on my ears, sinus congestion and headache for which my DR prescribed Z-pack and this Mehylprednisolone pack on yesterday. I got the meds from pharmacy and read instructions yesterday. Woke up this morning thinking I knew how to take the medication - all six pills before breakfast. Without double checking, I took all six pills before breakfast! For some reason I just had it in my head that line one was before breakfast and line two before lunch...etc... I hope I will be ok! ## They can be taken, all at once, so there's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels otherwise. But it could cause you to experience more intense side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness, irritability and insomnia, as reported by the FDA. Due to the insomnia, some peopl...

Does this medication help relieve fluid in ears? Can it be used nightly for 1-2 weeks to help eliminate fluid in the ears of a 55 lb, 5-1/2 yr old? ## The active ingredients listed (Brompheniramine and Pseudoephedrine) are found in a number of medications. One brand is Bromfed-DM syrup (NDC 54868-6377) which also contains Dextromethorphan. It's a combination cough suppressant, antihistamine, and decongestant for treating symptoms of the common cold, flu, & allergies. In reading the product label (PDF) for Children's Dimetapp Cold & Allergy (which contains Phenylephrine instead of Pseudoephedrine), it says that it is not indicated for children under 6 years of age. It sounds like your son is pretty close to the minimum age. What I'd recommend is getting it cleared by ...

i took just one and want to know how long for it to get out of my system, body? ## Hello, Gorden! How are you? This is an antibiotic that's used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Since you only took one, it won't take very long, approximately 5 to 6 hours. Did you suffer ill effects from it? ## I have been taking Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid since Friday for a sinus infection and a little bit of fluid behind both ears. I've been having jaw pain and I can barely hear out of my left ear. So my question is should I go back to the doctor ## I have been on amocillin 875mg for 7 days.
