My 92 year old mother in law has been prescribed 2 tablets 4 times daily which is a dose of 4000mg per day, this is for a leg infection. Is this ok? She has 7 days worth. ## Hello, Binky! I've been prescribed the above for a recurrant boil on my inner thigh. The dose of flucloxacillin is 500mg x4daily for two months. It's day two, so far I've only managed 3tabs a day. So that means 1500mg daily rather than 2000mg daily. How do I space these out? Is it 6hourly or 4hourly? ## 4 times a day would be every 6 hours. Hi there I was prescribed this medication for a possible infection after cauterising of the cervix. I find I have a headache and sweating and feel generally unwell the discharge I had is gone and I was wondering would it be safe to come off this med I have taken fourteen of a twenty eight cap course I really feel unwell with them. I have a routine colonoscopy and a gas trophy next tuesday and this medication has made my ibs so much worse. ## When it comes to an antibiotic, it really is important to finish the full course of it, if you can, due to the risk of developing antibiotic resistance if you don't. Can I take Duro-tuss Cough Liquid with Staphylex (flucloxacillin) 500mg that I'm using for a skin infection? ## Hello Wally, I hope you are having a wonderful day. According to DailyMed neither Staphylex or Flucloxacillin list each other or their active ingredients as having negative interactions, however, they do state that you should consult your doctor if you plan to take any additional medication. As a general rule of thumb it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope this information helps.

what are geriflox capsules used for ## I am not sure what strength you have, since they are available in both 250mgs and 500mgs, but Geriflox contains the active ingredient Flucloaxacillin. I used an old shaving stick of mine that has been in the bathroom for about 3 months and 3 days later, i've got this milky discharge coming from my penis. Thinking it was an infection, I used ciprofloxacin 500mg, flucloxacillin 500 mg and tetracycline 250mg for a week, but yesterday I got tired of taking the drugs. Problem is, the milky discharge came back today. Any advice pls? ## I used my old shaving stick that has been kept for like 2 months and applied my deodorant on the shaved place, but some days later, my penis head got swollen. So I used ampicillin and the swollen part went down, but now I am having pus-like discharge coming from my penis, but no frequent urge to urinate. Do I have an infection?
