Please someone give me a pharmacy that is legally able to fill C-2s for FL. ## Any pharmacy that has them in stock can legally fill a valid and legal prescription for them. The problem in Florida is that a major distributor was recently shut down, so most pharmacies don't have any in stock and are having trouble getting more, since a new distributor hasn't taken over, yet. However, if you have been told by some that they can't legally fill yours, then there may be a problem with the prescription itself. There are limits on how many your doctor can prescribe each month. Did you happen to ask why they can't fill it? Learn more Dilaudid details here. ## I know exactly why no body wants to fill anything, anywhere, and there is no distribution problem or limit a doctor can gi...

I take morphine and dilaudid for chronic pain associated with my 9 hip surgeries and three car accidents I would like to take methadone for pain management instead of what I'm taking I live in Clearwater Florida ## Hello, Karen! How are you? I'm sorry about what you've been through. Why do you want to switch? Are the Morphine and Dilaudid working for you? Most doctors aren't going to want to prescribe Methadone, due it's extremely addictive nature. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## NO!! I'm uninsured, live 20mi east I4. I've used each of these. Right now methadone was the only thing I could get. I am in so much pain, I want to die! My usual scripts are duragesic 75...

I live in Jasper, Alabama and have been on methadone for 15 years. It's the only thing that's helped during my chemo or when my ruptured disc are bothering me. The doctor I had just up and left and left all his patients hunting a new doctor. Does anyone know a doctor in or around Jasper or Birmingham that I can see that writes Methadone? ## Really, your best bet is to see a new doctor and make sure they get your medical records, so they can speak for themselves. Asking a doctor to prescribe a specific medication is often seen as being drug seeking behavior. Does anyone else have any suggestions to offer? ## Yeah, I'd definitely move from the deep South as fast as possible. Sorry about the comment Florida sounds like your closest bet to find an outpatient treatment center for...

need to find doc who can prescribe methadone for chronic pain. Primary care put me on methadone and oxy for breakthrough pain. now cannot prescribe any more. I don't care about the oxy but need to either continue methadone or get off of it---which obviously would need scritp for as well... to wean off safely -have insurance--am 62 and don't have any other doc for the last 13 years. am not addict but am physically dependent due to long term condition. largo Clearwater florida I need help fast. thank you for reading-any help will be appreciated... ## Due to the new regulations, if you require such a medication for long-term, ongoing management of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Are you still under the care of your PCP currently? If so, getting th...

My dr said they were limiting prescribing oxys to just cancer patients, took me off oxy 30s and now im on 4mg hydromorphones. Pain doesn't stop. What can i do? ## My pain Dr.told me they got a memo stating that they were no longer allowed to prescribe Oxy's to any patients that were not cancer or terminally ill. So I was taken off Oxy 30s and put 4mg hydromorphone as my NEW (again for the fourth or fifth time) pain "management" medication. I always try to be tolerant of there educated ideas but I tire of there gross disregard of my comfort and the fact that i am the one that has to live in pain and agony when their new drugs don't work and me and my family have to pay the price...It took over a year to find relief and now it starts all over again. Can anyone tell me ...

I moved from the cold of Minnesota to Florida far from all the people I love my friends and family and even left behind my home and really good job. I did this to try to help myself get relief from the chronic severe pain I live in. I don't know what to do..... I feel hopeless and like there isn't anyone out there that will help me. I have never abused my medication I do not drink alcohal or take any illigal drugs I am hard working and all I want is my life back. I am 33 years old and I feel like pain has highjacked my life. Can someone please tell me a doctor in the area who will treat my chronic pain? i do not have insurance and can no longer work due to my physical problems, my pain dr is too expensive and to far away. I am trying to find someone close who may possibly give me refills on my norco until i get disability and insurance. PLEASE HELP ## Hi, rk! I understand your dilemma due to the distance and expense, but I have to be honest and say that for now, you're likely better off staying with the doctor you already have. Due to the fact that not having insurance makes it harder to track someone, most pain management specialists will not treat an uninsured person and many pharmacies will not fill such prescriptions for them. There is too big of chance that there person could be doctor and pharmacy...

Does anyone know of a doctor in Florida prescribing hydrocodone for chronic pain? ## Hello, Rasa! How are you? Due to the changes this month that switched this to a schedule 2 medication, most doctors are now refusing to prescribe it. And regardless of that, if your require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regular that may be able to refer you to someone? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Does anyone know of a good doctor in that area? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

I have been taking 120 mg of methadone for approximately 5 years. My husbands job transferred us from Florida to Louisiana where I found a pretty good pain doc. He is now running scared and wants to take me off of methadone. Methadone has given me a good quality of life; I am able to work and be a productive member of society. My doctor is unwilling or unable to assist me in finding a new doctor who will continue my meds. Oh yeah, I have been the route of blocks and injections and gotten little if any relief. I'm tired of being branded a drug seeker-I have years of medical records that back up my claims and verify the dosages that I've been on-what drug seekers have this kind of back up? I am looking for a Louisiana doctor, but am willing to travel (within reason of course). Ple...

I have a rare kind of polyneuropathy that affects my long nerves. I have had severe chronic pain for over 8 years. My pain doctor in Florida switched me from oxycontin to methadone because the oxycodone made it difficult to sleep. I recently moved to Mass. and so far the two doctors I've been to eliminated my breakthrough meds (oxycodone 30 mg. 4 times a day) and decreased my methadone from 140 mg a day (taken evenly in 10 mg a day) to 70 mg a day (10 mg. tabs throughout the day) and I am back to excruciating pain. I cannot work, eat a healthy diet, sleep, take care of my family, etc. Why don't any of these doctors realize that although there are risks related to taking opiates, that QUALITY of life is what is important to me? Do you know of any doctors in Mass. (Lowell area) th...

It's October 10th 2013 and I get prescribed 10 mg methadone 3 times daily for chronic pain related to 2 herniated disks I've had for 13 years with nerve compression to the point of my right leg being either numb or on fire , and I can't seem to find these anywhere . Except for Walgreens and they flagged me today for lbeing suspicious. I'm 35 years old and am bald, have a long beard, and tattoos. So I know where that came from. If anybody can help me by telling me pharmacies that keep it in stock it will be greatly appreciated. This is my 2nd day without and I'm scared ow wds ## Hello, Micah! My doctor no longer prescribes narcotics. I have 4 bulged discs, a degenerative disc and sciatica. I have been on Dilaudid 8 mg 3 times a day for months. I went to a pain specialist who will only prescribe 4 mg and only one per day. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't afraid to write the scripts needed for chronic pain? I live in the Orlando area but am willing to drive to get the medication I need. I'm desperate! ## Marilyn, I'm sure this has little to do with you but the DEA in conjunction with state regulatory agencies have been notified that further prescribing of this potent narcotic opiate/opioid will result in their displeasure. Dilaudid, also referred to as hospital heroin for the intense euphoric pleasure it produces when administered intravenously, causes many to a...

I am a chronic back pain sufferer, relocated to Florida to live with my parents bc I lost my home from being unable to work bc of on the job injury that my employer won't take responsibility for. I was on 75 mg oxycodone in sc but my doctor here in Florida says that I cannot get but 60 mg a day unless I'm a cancer patient. Is there restrictions on back pain patients? ## The DEA did put forth some new directives asking doctors to restrict opiates to no more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine a day and some states took it upon themselves to lower that even further to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day. The only exceptions are for those with intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. At 60mgs of Oxycodone, you're currentl...

I have experienced chronic, generalized pain due to Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, and various other maladies. I am only 55 years old and suffer from severe, advanced C.O.P.D. I have less than 30% usage of my lungs. I don't have long to live, so it is difficult to understand why these doctors are so paranoid re' prescribing!! I was prescribed Darvocet until it was removed from the market, and then placed on Vicodin. The Vicodin helped me enormously; pain free. I cannot take the medications approved by the FDA for Fibromyalgia (i.e., Lyrica, Cymbalta, etc.), as I experience adverse side effects. I was taken off of Vicodin due to physician's fear of prescribing such in the state of Florida. It was the only medication that alleviated my pain, and did not cause side...
