Hi! Last dec i had a bacterial vaginosis, my ob gyne checked my records and found out that the medications i took is not for BV. So she decided to let me take falgyl now in my fourth month of pregnancy (my second trimister). Now that i am taking it i often feel a lower left abdominal pain. My mom is 85 and is in hospitpal with broncites and very bad diareah she has been put onto flagyl which is making her very sick with vomiting tiredness and tummy cramps - is this ok for an 85 year old woman ## Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of metronidazole (flagyl). Course for colitis (lower bowel infection) is 10 days long. As long as her doctors are managing her fluid and electrolyte status she should be OK. You could ask for some antiemetic (antisickness) medication to be prescribed if she is very nauseous.

I'm suffering from Chronic Amibiaze with my intestinal system and was prescribed Flagyl as antibiotic. Unfortunately, I developed skin reaction and after consulting an allergologue it's now confirmed that I'm allergic go flagyl. In such case, what your recommendation of treatment instead of flagyl. My gastro have prescribed Intetrix but the problem of Amibiaze still the same and I'm still having issues to have normal pooh.

i m taking Flagyl 400 since march 2011 for treatment of Antebacterial infection , i had taken 4 courses of 7 days , for one month or so i m ok , but again the problem starts , how much courses of flagyl are required for complete relief ## What type of infection is it? I went to the doctor 7 days ago and was perscribed flagyl, it has not seemed to work yet. For seven months my stomach had been making loud gurgling noises for no apparent reason.
