My doctor advised me to take Ecosprin 75 mg. From what I've read on the Internet, using Ecosprin in the first trimester is not safe, but now I'm 8 weeks pregnant... What can I do? ## It is actually not safe to take during the third trimester, according to the NIH. And yes, this is a generic for the antibiotic Augmentin, which is considered safe during pregnancy and you are correct, if you have some type of infection, that would be far more dangerous to your baby than taking this medication. But it may cause you some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

When does my first tremester ends, when should I start feeling movement of the baby. Is baralgin safe during pregnancy. ## Hello, Janice! How are you? Each trimester is 3 months, thus the fourth month would be the begging of your second trimester, so the beginning of the 7th month would start your third and last trimester of pregnancy. Feeling movement can vary from woman to woman, so there is really no way to give a definitive answer on that. Some women never feel movement, for various reasons, according to the NIH. As to Baralgin, it should only be taken, if your doctor has instructed you to take it. How far along are you?

Side effects during first trimester of pregnancy? ## Hi Dee, From what I could gather, it is recommended that you keep away from using Hyospasmol (Hyoscyamine) syrup during pregnancy. Reason being is that possible dangers to the fetus have been accounted (at least in animal studies so far as I know). Because of this I would encourage you to discuss this with your physician prior to use, or if you are preparing to get pregnant. Often times in situations where the mother is pregnant and has to take a medication, it may come down to weighing out the risks versus benefits. I hope this info helps! ## I am 14 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Today got sharp pain in my stomach just below my navel. Pain comes and goes. I'm in the first trimester of my pregnancy and was experiencing vaginal itching, even when I urinate. So I went to pharmacy and they prescribed me these capsules Doxytet and Anaerobyl, and also gave me topical cream Canalba. So I want to know if they are safe for pregnant woman? ## Hi Sharon, Are you referring to the medications Doxycycline and ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole)? If so, my research tells me that Doxcycline is only recommended for use during pregnancy when there are no other alternatives and the benefit of using the medication outweighs the risk. Doxycycline is considered pregnancy Category D medicine, which means that there is a high significant risk to an unborn baby. In regards to ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole), I've read that this medication is not recommended fo...

I've been on 1mg of Requip since the first trimester with no adverse effects on the baby. Now, in my third trimester the RLS has become unbearable and I've had to increase the dosage to 3 mg a day, not all atonce. The medication has started to make me ill to the point where I'm vomiting multiple times a day. And its still not working great. I am terrified that the increased dosage will hurt my baby but without it I literally will get no sleep. I have tried everything including taking iron supplements. Nothing works. This is ruining my life. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not this increased dosage is dangerous? Thanks so much. ## Hello, BethAnn! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy. Many medications do cross over to the fetus.
I drank a protein shake for breakfast every morning that contained 5,083 mg of L-Glutamine during my first trimester. I was unaware of the harmful effects L-Glutamine supplements could have on the fetus. Do u think I hurt the baby in any way? I've heard that to much L-Glutamine in the form of supplements can cause retardation in the fetus. ## Hello, Heather! How are you? Congratulations on the baby! It would be best to let your doctor know that you took it, that way they can watch for any possible problems. However, there have not actually been any studies done in humans, so if there is any risk from taking it, it's unknown, according to the FDA. They list it as being pregnancy category C, which means that while risk isn't proven, it also cannot be ruled out. Does anyone kno...
