white, round, 20mg tablets. Depression?? ## just was given cipralex to try for depression and anxiety - been on zoloft, effexor then prestiq - just wondered if anyone has had any good results ## I have been taking Lexam for approx 4 mths and found it to be far better than Zoloft or the mulitude of others I've been put on in the past. As I'm single I can't comment on any issues with Libido, something that it definitely affected by Zoloft, but I can say that it definitely makes it easier to get up each day. I sleep less (unlike when on Endep) and have more energy than before. I've had no issues with weight gain for once. If anything I've lost a little because I'm not gorging myself with comfort foods. I hope it works as well for you. ## Escitalopram is used to trea...

I took 80mg brand name Lexapro for several years and it was a great experience. I had no adverse side effects besides it keeping me a bit more on the manic side, but i liked that. Dare i say i felt as close to happy as i ever had. During some difficult financial times my doc suggested i try the much cheaper Celexa (citalopram) which he claimed was absolutely interchangeable with Lexapro. It wasn't. It didn't do a godamn thing for me. I gave it a couple months then asked for my Lexapro back, but again decided to go the cheaper route and get the generic. What a nightmare! Within the hour after ingesting 20mg of escitalopram i became violently ill. It creeped up with dizziness and a rapidly increasing heart rate, which got worse and worse until my heart was throbbing inside of my c...

Started taking Trintillex. Had bad side effects and stopped too fast which caused withdrawal. Now my Dr. has prescribed Escitalopram 5 mg. How long does this take to start working? Or is Zoloft 5mg better to start taking? Thanks so much. ## Zoloft is for middle aged women going through menopause It depresses young adults and seniors ## Iam waiting for a response regarding my questions about is Zoloft better or Lexapro which is escitalipram. ## Joni, which one may help you the most depends on the specific symptoms being treated, as well as any health conditions you may have, and other medications you may be taking, so it is best to try the one that your doctor has recommended. For example, since Sertraline can cause weight gain, and Fluoxetine(Prozac) usually doesn't, my husband woul...

What are you taking it to treat? ## Verwon I am taking it for Anxiety and depression. Mainly for depression since I am already taking Klonopin for anxiety. I started 6weeks ago, for anxiety and depression. Just 5 mg knocked me flat, but after a week i was on 10 mg and able to get out of bed. After another week things had improved all round, and by three weeks i was feeling good, actually happy. I had agreed to stay on this drug for a year or so, but got really pissed off that it prevented me from ever having orgasms, so decided to quit without asking my dr....too embarrassing to explain. Am phasing it out very slowly now because of scary stories, had a couple of bad headaches and brain zaps, but so far better than getting onto it! Will drop from 5 mg to 2.5 for a week next. It sure helped me, but this is all too much drama, next time i will pop a couple of valium rather! ## Don't go off of it my friend without Dr. advice. I was on 10mg...
