Eliquis And Diarrhea

I am on Eliquis 5 mg. per day, and Diltiazem 240 mg. ER. Have insomnia, dizziness, loss of balance, weak legs, itching especially of scalp and face, frequent urination, swelling in ankle and foot, and small appetite. I am in my 80's. I'd like to know if others have any of the same symptoms? ## Yes, those are possible side effects of one, or both of these medications. Can I take Septra while on Eliquis? I have been on Eliquis for six months. I take 2.5 mg Eliquis twice a day. I have the flu bug now & my doctor put me on Septra. Is there a problem taking this antibiotic while taking Eliquis? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but Septra is an antibiotic that is used to treat, or prevent bacterial infections. It will not do anything to treat the flu, since it is caused by a virus. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, non-allergic skin rash, and headache. Are you feeling any better?

I have been on Eliquis since 2016. I was first on 5M twice a day after suffering a small stroke. I had bleeding behind my right eye and blood in my urine. I was then put on 2.5 twice a day. Still get nosebleeds. I have gained 20lbs am extremely tired all the time and feel like the life is drained out of me. Starting in July I have had stomach problems and the gastroenterologist put me on a low food map diet. After two weeks I re-introduced dairy. I had ice cream and had extreme diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. It seems I am now lactose intolerant. ## Lactose is an ingredient in Eliquis. ## You need to taper off it and/or take another blood thinner. I am on blood thinners right now and I need to lose weight so I would like to know if I can take Lipozene with a blood thinner? ## Lipozene is just a supplement that is claimed, but not proven to actually work for anything. The FDA does warn that is has caused nausea, heartburn, and diarrhea in some people that take it. Given that you are on blood thinners, which means you have a medical condition requiring them, I would suggest you not take anything, without checking with your medical provider. It may just be a supplement, but some of them can affect your INR. My Mom is taking amoxicillin- pot clavul 875-125 and she has heart disease. I forgot to check interactions with eliquis she takes at bedtime. ## Hello, Teressa! How are you and your mom? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be careful. Is her pharmacy aware that she's taking both? If so, they should also have checked and wouldn't have dispensed the antibiotic, if there were any known dangers. I am taking it now. I know lemon js good and I want to start using it more often. Please advise. ## The interference from citrus fruits is generally specific to an enzyme in grapefruit. Thus, if you've not been warned otherwise by your pharmacy or on the medication labeling, others should be okay.
