So I'm in a rehab and on methadone. There is a female here "jen" who WAS on methadone a few years ago...so one day after going to the clinic on her way home she gets into a car accident and the other cars driver dies, it's not the victims fault either, it was jens....Jen is saying it was the clinics fault, that they double dosed her. Apparently the computers were down blah blah blah. I really don't buy it that she was double dosed. If they manually dose u, they have another nurse right next to them verifying the dose.... My question: Is there really a way for drs to test her blood to see she had double the amount of methadone in her??..she's adamant she was double dosed and takes no ownership in her accident..

Hi. I was prescribed 20mg of prednisone and took 40mg by accident. What should I do? ## Hello, Mariana! How are you? You should check in with your prescriber, to be sure, but in most cases, you would just continue taking it as prescribed. The FDA classifies the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight gain, acne and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My Prednisone dosage was taken twice in one day instead of once. Should I skip tomorrow’s dose, which would be dose #2, then continue with the third dose? ## My boyfriend took 80mg of Prednisone yesterday instead of 40 mg and I don't know what to do.
Accidentally took double dose of Bactrim DS. Is this harmful? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? This is an antibiotic, so you can't really overdose on it, thus a double dose would only be really dangerous if you were allergic to it. Otherwise, you are most likely to experience more severe side effects than usual, which as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. However, it is always best to inform your doctor of what happened, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have taken 3 bactrim tablets at once and I want to know if that will cause any problems I should be mindful of? Please reply!

If you feel extremely faint, or dizzy, you should consult a medical professional. Theoretically, you should be okay, but ther...

Hi. I just want to ask if a person has given 2 tablets of prednisone 20mg instead of 1 tab in just a day, does it mean, he/she needs to skip the another dose for tomorrow? ## Hello, Pranky! How are you? Not necessarily, they should follow their doctor's instructions. Sometimes a bolus of a larger dose is given for the first dose, then it is lowered afterwards for a week, or so. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I read my label wrong , it was supposed to be 4 10mg tablets for 3 days. I took 4 10 mg tables 3 times today, so a total of 12 pills. What should I do?? My mom takes a lot of pills and a typo from me caused her to take two 90 mg ER Nifedipine tablets. I am TERRIFIED that I have just hurt or worsened my mom. What will happen? Should I take her to the ER? Should I call the ambulance. Nothing has happened yet, but I am so scared. Her blood pressure before was 186 over 104, pulse 95. PLEASE HELP, I AM FREAKING OUT! ## Hello, Rhonda! How is your mom doing? Did she experience any adverse effects? Generally doubling up once doesn't cause any serious issues, other than possibly more severe side effects, according to the FDA. So she may experience more nausea, dizziness, headache, and urination than normal. It could also cause her blood pressure to be lower than usual. Is she on any other medications?
I just mistakenly took a second daily dose of Lexapro, three hours after taking the first. Do I need to be concerned? ## What dosage do you usually take? Typically, doubling up just once with this class of medications doesn't cause any severe issues, but it really depends on the dosage and the person. The FDA warns that you may experience more nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness than usual. Did you experience any adverse effects?
Can I cause harm to my body if I accidentally took two extended-release Xeljanz 11 mg tablets? ## From what I could gather, Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate) is immunosuppressive, which means that your immune system could potentially be compromised more easily with an increased dosage. However, if you are in otherwise good health, then I'm of the opinion that you should be fine after that second tablet wears off... Nevertheless, I would still encourage you to let your prescribing doctor and/or pharmacist know just to be on the safe side, since this would ultimately mean that you'd have 1 less tablet to take prior to getting a refill -and whether or not this is something you'd have to be concerned about as well? I hope this helps and wish you good health!
Okay so I am used to taking Norco 10/325. But now I only have Norco 5/325. Can I take more because I am used to a higher dose? ## Have you consulted your doctor? You really shouldn't double up, without their approval. You would be getting twice the amount of Acetaminophen as usual and that may cause problems, with certain health conditions and other medications. Why was your dosage changed? ## I don’t know. I go to a RA doc about 225 miles round trip from my home and the nurse always puts my scripts in an envelope and seals it. I didn’t open it until I took it to my pharmacy and when my husband picked them up is when I caught the error! It was a different color, shape and lower mg. I have had severe RA for 40 yrs.
My grandpa is 77 years old and he accidentally took 2 tablets of Atenolol 50mg at a time. Will any serious injury occur in regards to his health? Please advise. ## Doubling up hasbeen known to cause someone to experience more severe side effects, according NIH reports, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Given his age, that could also make them worse. Thus, it would be best to consult his doctor to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Not sure if I accidentally took a double dose of atenolol or not, which would be 75mg with the mistake, instead of 37.50 mg normally. Will I be alright if I had taken a double dose? ## I accidentally took a 100 mg dose of atenolol instead of 1/2 pill about 1 hour ago. I take it for tachycardia...
I took 25 mg of losartan at 5:00 AM and accidentally took one at 9:00 PM. Is that harmful? ## Sorry to hear about the mishap LeeAnn... I see that you posted this back on March 31st, so it's been a few weeks now. Just wondering how you are feeling? Fortunately, Losartan's half-life is only about 2 hours, and the amount of time in between the two doses was far away enough that I probably would've imagined everything would turn out fine in the long run once it left your system; albeit might cause some unwanted side effects in the moment...
