Several years of pain meds for back and neck joint deterioration. My Dr. has told me I will soon no longer receive pain meds. Due to a Government Mandate I will go thru a 90 day period where the meds will be slowly reduced. I will be given Naltrexone to help with with withdraws. Is this true? Is our Government sticking their nose into private people's quality of life? How is it possible to assume my joint deterioration problem has gone away? It just doesn't make sense to me! . ## No, that is not actually true. The DEA has issued more strict directives that doctors must use, when prescribe controlled substances and, after that 90 day period, they must have a valid explanation for why the are prescribing such medications... unfortunately, this has caused many doctors to decide to ...

100 mcg levothyroxine reduced to 88, because TSH too low, but after 8 days fingers feel numb and very cold, does T4 reduce that quickly? ## Hello, Babs! How are you? Are you still getting the cold and numbness? That sounds like Raynaud's Syndrome and it's difficult to know if it may be due to your thyroid condition, the medication or both. How easily do your fingers and toes get cold and numb during cooler weather?

Hi, this is my second time trying Effexor. I was on it for several years a while ago, but went off as I got to the highest dose and it still stopped working after a while. Since then I've tried several other drugs to very little improvement, as well as ECT and rTMS, neither worked. Of course I've tried counselling and CBT, and mindfulness as well, but my brain is not even in a place where I can begin to implement those things. So, I believe that the Effexor is beginning to possibly help. I haven't had a major low in a few days, I'm actually able to push myself a little to do some stuff. I even tidied up a bit! First time I've really been able to do that in 6 months. Major problem though... most of the side effects I'm getting are deal-with-able, dry mouth, etc. B...

I was taking 30mg of Cymgen per day over a period of approx one year. Three months ago I had a small meltdown and my doctor doubled the dose. After speaking to him a week ago I asked whether I could resume 30mg dose. He agreed. However, since then I am plagued by very vivid nightmares (kidnapping, collapsing houses etc) and weird images. Is this in line with withdrawal? ## Yes. I'm having terrible nightmares too. But i think we have to stick it out.

I have been on multaq for over 2 years and no more afib. I would like to wean myself off by reducing the dowager 50%. Will this work? Thanks Bill ## Hi, Bill! How are you? I'd suggest not reducing the dosage, until you consult with your doctor. If you do it too rapidly, it could cause a rebound effect, which may cause you to go into dangerous a-fib worse than that which you started taking it to treat. Reductions are best done very slowly and under the guidance and supervision of your physician. Learn more Multaq details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

A friend of mine got some slimming pills called Reduce 15 mg that he bought in Thailand. They are not allowed in the country where I live, so I can't consult my doctor. I'm healthy but I have suffered from stress due to too much work, and have been medicated for that a couple of times, though not currently. I'm not fat, but I have gained 20 kg due to stress. Do you know which secondary efects these pills could have or if I should take them at all? ## From what I can find, Reduce contains the active ingredient Subutramine, which has been pulled from the market in many countries, due to the severe dangers associated with it. It can cause cardiac related dangers, such as: accelerate heart rate, trouble breathing, elevated pulse and elevated blood pressure. There have been some ...

I have been taking Amitrityline 10mg for facial neuralgia for over two years now. I can identify with many of the side effects mentioned on this site, but I can't find anybody suggesting that by taking Amiytriptyline (in no matter what dose) your libido is reduced. I have most certainly experienced this problem, has anybody else and if so did you find an alternative that does not produce this rather unpleasant side effect? ## Hello, Robert! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of almost all antidepressant medications, not everyone experiences it, but many do. There's really no way to say which one might not cause you such a problem, you really just have to try them and see how they affect you. Have you discussed the issue with your prescriber? They may have a better idea ...

I'm wondering if it's necessary to take 4 pills per day. I'm in the 2nd week of Contrave and take 2 pills per day. Seems to me that is enough as my appetite is diminished and I've had no adverse side effects. What are the additional benefits of increasing to 3 or 4? Can I stay on 2 per day and have it work? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? For the best results, it is best to follow your doctor's instructions by taking the daily dosage that has been found effective. However, you can speak to your doctor about it to see what would be best for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, nervousness, insomnia and anorexia. Is there anything else I can help with?

My therapist and psychiatrist worked together to prescribe the most effective treatment for my anxiety and alcohol abuse. I have been taking Zoloft for the past six years, and for the past two weeks I have been taking Topamax. I started with 50 mg at night the first week and increased to 100 mg at night the second week. I have been sober for 40 days, but my sugar cravings have not declined! I am eating bubble gum, Oreo cookies, candy ... mad sweets, sweets, sweets. Has anyone else had experience with this course of treatment with Topamax? How long does it take to kick in? Was it effective? Thoughts? Suggestions? ## Hello, Ricki! How are you? I have huge pores on the face,, along with dark spots.. would love to know which products are best for a solution to the pores, and clears the dark spots, uneven skin tone.. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Proper treatment is really going to depend on what is, or has caused the problem. Any suggestions made by others could just end up aggravating the problem and making it worse.

Taking Nuvigil 150 mg for 2 days, feeling awesome as compared to before - awake and productive all day. I still yawn like I'm tired all day but stay awake. Also, I cant stop swallowing and drinking water like constantly. Headaches. The main thing is that I'm a chronic pain patient and I don't even want or need my pain meds until it wears off!! Anyone else have a similar experience? ## Yes. I have general chronic muscle pain. Nuvigil reduces that pain. ## I've been taking opiates for several years, and over the last year I've become more dependent on them and my usage has grown into a daily regimen. Recently, I've found some Nuvigil pills and since starting them, my opiate usage has decreased significantly. I'm not sure what to make of this really. ## Well, I...

Can I cut pill in half if needed? What body effects will I feel? ## Hello, Cat! How are you? As long as your doctor approves, you can cut or break any tablet that isn't time released, as long as the label doesn't specifically tell you not to do so. As to effects, it may cause some rebound effects, such as headaches, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, as reported by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on subutex for 2 years or more, recently my boyfriend decided we both should try lowering our dosage. After 3-7 days of lowering my dose, I am starting into withdrawal within hours of taking my lowered dose. Why am I in REAL withdrawal even though I have taken a dose of my subutex? These are NOT phantom withdrawals. I am very educated on phantom withdrawals & im definitely feeling REAL symptoms. Why am I in almost full tilt withdrawal already? ## I am sorry if I seem rude for asking, but why is your boyfriend making such decisions? Is he a doctor? Anytime you lower the dosage of an opiate, such as this, it is normal to experience withdrawal symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, rebound pain, and diarrhea. My son is using eptoin since 3-4 years, right now his level is on toxic alert, about to know the precautions ## Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin, it is most commonly used as an anti-epileptic. Did his doctor give you any instructions? Usually this results in their lowering his dosage or even discontinuing the medication for a few days and then retesting. This is even done when it is used as a mood stabilizer, to prevent the toxic levels from occurring, because they can lead to serious health problems. ## Doctor Advise him to reduce the eptoin 100 mg thrice to twice, and also warn to take well care of him, may be he will face one or two attacks within a week. I want to know that is there any other kind of treatment is available ?? because he is facing side effects of eptio...
