could someone please tell me if a person has been using 8mg dilaudad just once a day, basically for the high, on a regular basis for over 4 months will they experience a hard withdrawal by quitting cold turkey and if so for how long? ## From what I could gather, the severity of Dilaudid withdrawal symptoms depends on the dosage and length of time the individual has been using the drug. Dilaudid withdrawal can peak in as little as 9 hours, but typically peaks in 14 to 21 hours after cessation of use. Symptoms typically resolve in 36 to 72 hours. If so, Dilaudid is Hydromorphone, a very potent narcotic pain reliever. It is very strong and not intended for use by people who have not previously used and have a tolerance to opiates. It interfered with some of my other medications (an antidepressant, moodstabilizer, antianxiety...) and I almost died. My blood pressure dropped dangerously low, my oxygen levels plummeted, and they had to call a code blue. Fortunately I had a nurse who acted quickly and gave me an injection of something that neutralized the dilaudin and they did not have to rescusitate me. If you have a tablet with no imprint on it, then it is most likely something that's available over the counter. little round white pill with k2 on8D16 ## A white round pill with the K2 marking is NOT Dilaudid, nor any type of narcotic. It contains 8mgs of Ondansetron, an SSRI commonly used for it's ability to prevent nausea. ## It never ceases to amaze me that some people have no clue as what medication that they are taking!! I was prescribed Dilaudid 2mg for the repair of an incisional hernia. Pain maiintenance has been a problem in as much as I cannont in the least tollerate even 2mgs of dilaudid. In the hospital was one matter. At home I was scared, felt on and off as if I were dying and very week to the point that I could barely make it to the kitchen to eat even oatmeal It would take me 10 to clean up a small kitchen spill because I was so weak. I switched to 600 mg IB and was chastised by the Advice Nurse for even considering IB and to switch immediately to Tylenol. My Question is this: Has anyone every been successful with pain maintenance with Tylenol Extra Strength or with 1/2 a 2 mg Dilaudid pill. Though sill soo afraid of Dilaudid. i took 5 of the 2mg dilaudid pills and i don't feel good at all I'm dizzy I'm itchy I'm nauseous and i can barely type so I'm having my friend do it so what do i do somebody please help! :'( ## How are you doing today? Did you seek medical attention? Why did you take so many? Some companies have been marketing unnapproved versions of these medications and they have made them remove them from the market until they undergo product quality and safety tests. This has affected many drugs on the market in the past few months. There have been several posts about this one our site, as well as many others, even nurses in hospitals have mentioned getting notifications from their pharmacies regarding a shortage. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. And no, MIchele! I need these as soon as possible because I ran out a couple days ago and I;m starting to get sick. ## I had a lumbar back fusion in 2008 and no one realized I had a small stroke, so after PT I was falling all the time and I also broke my tail bone on one of the falls. There is no 20mg Dilaudid available in the U.S. There is a 24mg and a 32mg in the time released formulation, but the regular release tablets are only available in 2, 4 and 8mg. what does a dilaudid 30 mg look like color shape and ## There is no 30mg Dilaudid pill on the U.S. market. Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone and regular release tablets are only available in a maximum of 8mgs, the extended release in 16mgs and and extended release capsule in 32mgs. There are also generics on the market and they will all have different markings to enable their identification. Are there any markings on the tablet you are questioning? If so, please post back with them and I will gladly check it for you to see what it contains. ## The extended release were taken off the market by the FDA.

i was in the emergency room at hospital for 4days was on dilaudin iv the whole time its been 3months and i have amedicine odor coming off my body smells likea chemical bad when i sweat help ## It's very doubtful that a medication you received through IV would still be causing it over 3 months later. and fentanyl 150 mcg for spinal stenosis. Cronic pain for years but the last 2 is are finally getting to me. 8 surgeries, 4 major cancer and more, and 4 for hernias and so on. Always wear patch but sometimes 3,4 days mostly pain free don't take deludide.Then the pain hits. 16mg every 4 hrs bearly touches it. You would think not taking for days I would get knocked for a loop. This moring woke up from pain, it was like I woke up in recovery room. Took 24 mg dl and didn't touch it. Whats going on.
