I HAVE BEEN TAKING GENERIC ADDERALL which has always been called amphetamine salts. my son was on Dexedrine and no longer is available was then prescribed zenzedi the pharmacy filled a generic brand named Dextroamphet which is generic for Adderall , not Dexedrine family,when I looked it up the generic brand for Dexedrine was Dextroamphetmine whats the difference? ## Hello, Yappi! Please let me know my understanding is Dextroamphet is generic for Adderall and Dextroamphetmine is generic for Dexedrine what is it really ## Hi yappie, Based on my research, Dextroamphet is simply an abbreviation for Dextroamphetamine; so they are considered to be the same exact medication in that regard. To help clear up any additional confusion, Adderall is a brand name for the following active ingredients: Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine. My Rx was for Amphetamine salts combo 5mg. & my pill bottle simply says amphetamine salt 5mg. Are these the same? I've been taking 5mg twice a day for 3 days now, not really noticing much ## I know that Adderall contains the salt combo (Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine), but I too, wasn't aware of the differences between the two. What is the difference between vyvanse and adderall and what will it show up different in a urine test ## I would say vyvanse is a better bet. ## On the drug test, probably. Veneyase(sic) effect are similiar to dexedrine without the euphoria. As w/ the mixed salts, 'it keeps on going'. ## Lol... There's not much difference! Vyvaynse uses amphetamines as their active ingredient but in much much lower strength! I do not see how it would test different in a urine test either?
