I live in southwest Florida and I have not been able to get my Rx in over a month now! I'm frustrated. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks for your feedback! P.S. According to the manufacturer's guidelines, they also suggest taking 10 to 20mg orally 2 or 3 times daily; with a third dose to be only be taken if necessary (as in some patients, a lesser amount may still suffice). The dosing indications could be somewhat different for each individual, as well as those using sustained release tablets. So, in my opinion it's always important to verify this type of information with your doctor first. I have been taking Methylphenidate mps 20mg for the past few years and doing great. A couple of weeks ago I went up to get my refill but it wasn't the brand I was on. They told me at the pharmacy that it's the same thing. I was taking them but I am feeling weird along with an upset stomach. Headache. They gave me apo brand. I am wondering if it's just me or are they somewhat different? I would call my Dr. but he is out of town. Why is the price of methylphenidate so expensive now? My doctor informed me that it is dirt cheap, and is generic. I was diagnosed with ADD, and was informed it was a cheap drug since I could not afford health insurance. My memory and attention is poor. I am willing to try the drug in generic form. ## I take 10 mg methylphenidate three times daily for narcolepsy. I have no health insurance, but I have been paying $6 for ninety pills at the local Wal-Mart. Today I went to have it renewed and got hit with a $55 bill. I am a senior on fixed income. i am on just plain methylphenidate 20 mg tabs. they don't seem to be as effective as they used to be. i was talking to my psychiatrist about switching to something else but he wasn't very agreeable about it. he said these types of drugs are getting more difficult to get. is this true? what is the difference between methylphenidate reg, sa & sr? could this all possibly have something to do with which pharmaseutical companies my doc deals with? ## The SR stands for sustained release, so the ones with that designation are a time release formulation, rather than a regular release, like what you are currently taking. I take 20 mg of methylphenidate twice a day I have two kinds of pills I believe from two different manufacturers one is yellow withSZ 790 and the other is pink with R/33. I want to be sure they are the same medication (Ritalin) because I may have mixed them with another medication. My son had SEVERE ADHD to the point of hitting teachers when he was 4 in preschool, so he was tried on many meds and finally placed him on 36 mg of Concerta and 1mg of Tenex for any left over aggression. When he was in 1st grade the Concerta was moved up to 54mg. Now he is almost 12 and he says he doesn't feel "normal" when he takes them (sometimes we skip weekends). What is the safest way to stop? ## Since it does contain Methylphenidate, which is a psychostimulant, there can be some problems and rebound effects, if you completely discontinue it abruptly. Medicare wants to switch me from provigil 200 mg once/day, which I have been taking to establish a sleep pattern successfully for 4 years, and replace it with methylphenidate. Recently filled a methylphenidate prescription at rite aid that doesn't work nearly as we'll for my 6 yr old grandson as the same one from Wal-Mart did.I hear that rite aid manufacturer Mallinckrodt is not effective at all but his Dr thinks I'm crazy. The 3 Manufacturers are Mallinkrodt/Methylin, Sandoz and Watson Pharmaceuticals. On this day, December 3,2011 I learned that if a generic drug is back ordered in lots of different Pharmacies our HMO's will pay for the drug that is prescribed. All who are prescribed Methylphenidate 20 mg. are being turned away by CVS, RiteAid, including the pharmacies in some Giant food stores . If you are prescribed both forms of this drug do not let the Pharmacist fill one part of your prescriptions and if both are on 1 prescription sheet never trust anyone to complete the refill. Hello, I was recently diagnosed with ADHD my doc prescribe me Ritalin the pharmacy gave me the genetic brand Methylphenidate 20mg ER (LA) caps Mfc Actavis. The first day it was ok, made me feel a little more energy, more focus, but also kinda jittery, the fallowing days I didn't even feel anything other than some anxiety and loss of appetite, I was supposed to take them for a month but after taking them for 15 days I decided they were not doing anything for me, except making me want to take Xanax (which I am also prescribed for anxiety) I normally don't take it unless I really need it and just tiny dosages.
