I have just started I took one and Im thinking 3 times a day every 8 hours will this help? ## Gregory, Bactrim is not the most effective antibiotic for dental infections. Most hospitals offer a dental clinic based on ability to pay or charity care. Can the prescription Nitrofurantoin be taken for the sympthoms of earache, sore throat, headache, and skin sore to the touch? I was also chilling twelve hours ago. ## Nitrofurantoin is used to treat urinary tract infections. Nitrofurantoin is in a class of medications called antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria that cause infection. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. That said, I think it would be best to diagnose the underlying causes of your sore skin, headache, sore throat, and ear ache. In my honest opinion, a naturopathic doctor would best suit your needs for all the above symptoms and conditions. Additionally, I do see some antibiotics being prescribed for ear aches; however Nitrofurantoin is primarily used for UTI's, so you may also want...

I have a abscess tooth it's infected so I'm looking at my old prescriptions to find something to help my ear is also hurting dentist antibiotics or something to help don't want pain killers ## Hello, Kevon! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the dental issue. If it is an infection, it will require an antibiotic, so you'll need to see your dentist. You can't just take any old leftover one that you already have, because if you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment and eradicate the infection, you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Additionally, whatever underlying problem has caused the infection will still be there, so the infection will just keep coming back. You need to have your dentist correct the problem. Is ...
