I have decided to stop using citalopram because i'm afraid of side effects. I started with 5 drops at evening , 6 drops the second day and 7 at the third time that was yesterday..I would like to know how degrading the dosage in order to avoid bad effects. Thanks, ALF. ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. Is your medication in liquid form? If so, I think you are doing well in simply counting how many drops you use, even it takes a little longer to taper off of in this manner. a bipolar mediacation in a liquid form ## I just starting taking amblify so I quit taking lexapro and it is also to help my back pain. It is most commonly used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Depending on the condition being treated, it is sometimes used with other mental health medications. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood changes, and restlessness. Has your doctor advised you to stop your other medications? I know that CITAL liquid and soda-bi-carb as well as lemon joice are prescribed for alkalinizing the urine. Can a 'drinking soda' have the same effect ?
