4H2 ## Is cilift addictive?and how strong is it as a medication? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant, so no it isn't actually addictive. Learn more Citalopram details here. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. As to how strong it is, that's really difficult to say with this class of medications, it really depends on how well it works for the individual taking it. Not everyone gets the same results from it. I have been using Cilift 20mg as well as Alzam for just over 2 years. I have Rheumatoid arthritis. Started taking anti depressants after my husband committed suicide over 2 years ago. I do not sleep well. I still feel down at times, I have terrible pain in my hips, knees and elbows. Seems both tablets do not work for me anymore. Does the Cilift and the Alzam not affect the balance of my hormones? Oh I'm 63 Years old. I want to wean myself from these two meds. What would be the best route to follow? I have been prescribed Cilift 20mg by my doctor to treat my anxiety that i get. I get sweaty hand and feet, heart pulpotations, sometimes a pain in my chest. I cannot eat properly, i vomit if i try to. I have also been given Ativan 1mg to use to calm me down. Could someone please explain to me if Cilift will work for my anxiety, as i have hear of the natural product 5 HTP that works the same, but with no side effects. Iv been using cilift for three weeks now for anxiety. My heart has been giving me hell, beating hard in my chest and stomach, I feel sick and tired all the time and i have to force myself to eat. Because im feeling sick and tired most of the time im depressed and end up breaking down because i cant get a normal days work done. should i continue with the perscription or stop with it.

I am 47 yr old lady from cape town diagnosed 2007 with severe depression by DR CHris George. From 2011 I have been taking Alzam 0.5 three times a day plus Zolpiderm 20mg per night and cilift 3 times a day. Now I am very sick and the second opinion is telling me that the Alzam has been destroyed my intelligence. I have been on cilift for a month now and have the most unusual, weirdest dreams for the past 3 weeks. I am on Azor for constant anxiety en Cilift for depression. It seems not to help me anymore. Is my system after 10 years so used to it that I should rather change my medication. ## Hello, Johann! How are you? Yes, it is possible that could be causing your problem. You may need a dosage adjustment or to switch to new medications. However, please be careful not to just stop these medications cold turkey, as the FDA warns that doing so with the Azor creates the risk of seizures, as well as rebound depression and anxiety. If you have to switch medications, follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am a 26 year old female and have been on cilift since i was about 17 years old, my doctor assures me that it is toatlly safe to carry on for long periods of time, he also says its even safe for pregnant woman. So my question is, could i be putting on weight from the cilift back when i was about 18 i was super skinny VERY skinny 47kgs and 1,66m i put on a bit of weight and was very happy at the age of 21 being 57kgs but since then it just seem to be coming and coming, gradually, i am now 1,69m and 66kgs i have not changed my lifestyle since i was 21 i eat well and exercise (which i never did when i was 18-21) ive now started eating ever BETTER and gyming more but the weight still keeps coming? I have been using Cilift for about 4 months but wake up tired, I don't want to get out of bed in the morning. However, I did find that Citalopram is reported to be an ingredient of Cilift in South Africa. Cilift + alcohol = Madness and unacceptable biopolar behaviour. My husband was diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety. He is also a alcoholic. Will not stop drinking or even cut down.Obviously the madication is not working!!!! My 3 boys and I have suffered for 13years with this madness and it is getting worse. Hi, I am on Cilift since 3 days now. I can deal with the headaches every now and then. But I find, that my panic attacks got worse. I wake up in the morning with my heart racing and the evenings are even worse. I started with half a tablet for the first 4 days. The Dr. gave me Beta blocker and a tranquilizer now. I am Bipolar and take 900mg Epilum in the morning as well as 900mg in the evening. I suffer from severe major depression which went through the roof after a teriible year of great losses. My GP has now put me on 20mg Cilift. Can Cilift and Trepiline be taken together? I take 1 Cilift every night, and the doctor has just given me Tripline for my shingles, to take 1 at night. ## Clifit contains Citalopram and Tripiline contains Amitriptyline and they can be used together, but the dosages should be taken under careful consideration, plus your doctor should be monitoring you regularly while you are taking both. I have been on cilift for almost a year. I have started sleeping more at night, between 9 - 11 hours a night. I battle to get up in the morning. I used to be energetic but not anymore. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression associated with major depression. I was negative, nothing was funny anymore, I didn't enjoy my husband and my wonderful baby boy. I was negative the whole day. It felt as if I was not in control of my emotions. My GP put me on Cilift. After a month on the medication I could feel a definate change in my mood and behaviour.
