Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone for the maternal recognition of pregnancy produced by trophoblast cells that are surrounding a growing embryo (syncytiotrophoblast initially), which eventually forms the placenta after implantation.[1][2] The presence of hCG is detected in some pregnancy tests (HCG pregnancy strip tests). Some cancerous tumors produce this hormone; therefore, elevated levels measured when the patient is not pregnant may lead to a ...

I have been taking encorate chorno for 7 years now, due to an episode of hallucination that I had which was probably connected to menopause. I feel quite ok now, and would like to reduce the dosage under doctors supervision,However when I have tried in the past I feel uneasy and a bit jittery. Is this normal. I would like to try alternative forms of therapy like yoga, homepoathy etc, but do not know if this is possible or advisable?? Please advice. ## There is no doubt that yoga will definitely be of help to you in overcoming your conditions. Combine with breath control called pranayama and meditation and you will get wonderful results. If you are in India you can try Ayurveda which is completely safe and has no side effects. The treatment is for a short period only and inexpensive.

I am suffering from chronic constipation for the last 30 years coupled with gas problem. I have possibly all available medicines like pan -40 mg, zintec-150 mg, Razo-20 mg, some laxatives etc but of little use. Is endoscopy the only option left in my case. Kindly advise me . ## I have suffered from chronic constipation and IBS for most of my adult life. Since my hysterectomy, and gall bladder surgery, my condition has worsened. I have been tested for Chron's Disease and that was negative. I was recently referred to a GI Specialist, who initially started me on Amitzia. I had very uncomfortable side effects, including abdominal cramping, diarrhea, and nausea. He then switched me to Linsza. When I take the Linsza, I honestly cannot get off of the toilet for several hours, due to consta...

I have lost my voice and have been told that my left vocal chord is not working. Is there any medical data on the reaction. ## Hi Michael....I was diagnosed with a paralyzed vocal cord last November. It took about 5 months to heal, after going into the hospital for a scope and two different physician's opinions. Do not despair. It will heal itself. Take care of your voice. Do not strain it and do not lose hope. ## Only a Dr. who orders tests could tell you what is causing it, whether it will heal and how long it may take.

I understand it causes drosiness and it is affecting me. I am sleepy most of the day because I take one capsule 4 times a day. can I take the 4 capsules a day all at once at night.? The strengh of the capsule is 5-2.5M. ## No, they shouldn't be taken altogether, but the problem may be that you are on too high of an amount each day. This medication is known to cause oversedation, if too much is being taken. Have you contacted your doctor?

Can I take 2 tabs of pot chor a once ## hi woody why do you want to take 2? 2-20mg=40mg which is a commonly prescribed dose, but too much potassium can be just as bad as not enough. if your on water pills and its causing leg cramps you may need a higher dose, you should check with your doc. ## I know it's sometimes easier to take two doses of potassium at once, but it is not a good idea. Your body doesn't store potassium, so you'll have too much for part of the day and none for the rest of the day. That defeats the purpose of two doses. If you double-up on the liquid form of potassium, it may act like a very strong, fast laxative. Your body will rid itself of too much liquid potassium. It's annoying & you will not have the potassium you need. Potassium is a serious d...

I had calcium kidney stones. My doctor prescribed Chorthalid tab 25mg. to prevent me from forming more stones. I have seen no reference to taking it for this purpose. I also have low BP. Is it advisable for me to take it? ## Hello, Helen! How are you? I'm sorry about the kidney stones, they are very painful. And yes, according to the NIH, Chlorthalidone is used to help prevent calcium stones. As listed by the FDA, its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dehydration/ How low is your normal blood pressure? ## I know this is an older post but was wondering if this is why my urologist has me only taking half a tablet at a time. I hate kidney stones.

why take something like blue lortab and change it when it worked for choric pain is it because the drug is owned by doctors that want to keep people in pain why please tell me WHY! ## From my perspective, it's really not as complicated as it seems. The way I see it is that the pharmaceutical industry basically turns otherwise short-term pain patients into long-term customers. By keeping patient's scripts inconsistent and sometimes unreliable, they are essentially making people who are in pain feel like they "need" their services to survive. It's a total control/ego trip their on, but at the rate things are going with so many people now complaining about their meds, I doubt big pharma will stay on top for very much longer. In my opinion, the best way to stop supportin...
