3 Topics FoundI just got cheratussin ac and it is very very light pink almost clear, Is this the right color? I am asking because it is not making me drowsy and is not helping my cough very much. ## Cheratussin AC - Syrup contains Codeine (10 mg) + Guaifenesin (100 mg) per 5 mL. As far as I'm concerned, if your label is similar to the one in the link below, then it is supposed to be a very light reddish pink color: NOTE: You may have to scroll down the page to see the label. As you can see, they put "red #40" in the inactive ingredient list. Whether or not the color matches is one thing, but if it doesn't work for you then you need to consider contacting your doctor or pharmacy about stronger forms of this medication. does cheratussin look niqrathin, or like a syrup ## Cheratussin ac has a thick liquid viscosity. A possible comparison is that it's thinner and runs quicker than maple syrup but thicker than fruit juice. That's the best analogy I can put together for it. If you happen to stop by your local pharmacy, just pick up a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup and it's pretty much the same consistency. The inactive ingredients in Cheratussin AC contain: alcohol, caramel, citric acid, FD&C red #40, flavor, glycerin, menthol racemic, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate, sorbitol solution ....So it will likely be a light reddish pink color, judging from the Red dye they put in it.
