2 Topics FoundTake Carbolevo with what products? ## Hi Alex, Based on my research, Carbidopa/Levodopa should be taken by mouth, usually 3 to 4 times a day or as directed by your doctor. If you have been taking Levodopa without any Carbidopa and are taking this combination for the first time, wait at least 12 hours after your last dose of Levodopa before taking the them together. Carbidopa/Levidopa can be taken with a light snack to help decrease nausea, however you should refrain from taking it with high-protein snacks because they may prevent absorption. If you take any supplements that contain iron, be sure to take them hours before/after your dose because Iron can reduce the amount of Carbidopa and Levodopa available to the body. I have been to two doctors. One said I didn't need to stop eating before taking pills. Other doctor said to space them. now I'm questioning how much time I need to wait before taking the pill. I would appreciate hearing from anyone re spacing medication. Thank you. Also, do most people notice a change in flexibility when taking the medication. I'm not sure that I do. ## Proteins in your food can decrease the amount of the medication that is absorbed, so it is usually recommended that it be taken 1 to 2 hours, before meals. How long have you been taking it? If you haven't been on it for long and have been confused about properly taking it, then it may not have reached its full effectiveness for you, yet.
