I am diabetic. Had bye-pass surgery ten years back. The medicine prescribed for BP was cardace 2.5mg plus seloken xl 50 which was keeking my blood pressure under control. However, three days back I experience a sudden rise in my BP to 200/105. I was rushed to emergency. Was in hospital for 2 days. Now, doctor has changed the BP medicine to Telma 40. But the BP is showing frequent rise to 185/90 levels. My doctor is not available due to christmas holidays. Should I continue with Telma 40 or change back to my original medicine? I am 58 years of age. Just 10 days back I started Thelma H 40 mg for BP 160/90 as advised by my doctor. After using it for 8 days I got dizziness, frequent urination and a light strain on my right side. So I consulted my doctor and am now taking Telsartan 40. My BP is now 120/80. How long should I use 40 mgs for? Can I reduce to 20 mgs? Please advise.
