I've been on on bupropion xl 150 mg for almost 1 year. During this time my depression has gotten worse. I attributed the decline in my mood and inability to cope to things happening in my life. Now I'm wondering if this generic form is the problem. Anyone else having these problems? ## There is also a chance that it may just not be the right medication for you to take. Not all of them work for everyone that tries them and some people become resistant to some fairly fast. Have you talked to your doctor about? You may need to try a different medication.

Is this safe to take wellbutrin 150xl After the company had to recall the wellbutrin 300xl. This was originally Teva and is renamed global pharmaceuticals? Are they now FDA approved again? I currently have WB 150 xl 681 oval yellow. I have taken it for a month , but am. baffled of all the stuff i just read..I feel like a. statistic. I also feel like stopping the medication immediately because i feel like its all a scam ## Hi, Silvia! I think you're misunderstanding information regarding the manufacturing of medications. When a medication is available as a generic, it is usually manufactured by several different companies, this creates competition, which helps keep prices lower for those who are uninsured. So Teva has not been renamed Global, they are two different prescription drug ...

I have been taking the Bupropion HCL XL 150MG for 5 days but have noticed little effect. It seems to me as if I am in-between how I should feel, I feel a little up, melancholy, calm but at the same time I feel not so motivated, a little placid and could easily sit and do nothing (all though I feel like I should be up doing something, does that make sense?) My question is would it hurt me to take two 150MG? Just to see if this gets me out of this limbo state. ## Hello, Ira! How are you? 5 days is far too soon to expect this medication to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body, it can take about a month for that to happen. And no, you definitely shouldn't adjust your dosage without your doctor's approval. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to slowly begin to stop taking the Bupropion, what is the best way to do that? I take 150 mg 1x daily ## You're on the time released formulation, so you can just cut or divide the pills, since that may cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Learn more Bupropion details here. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to prescribe a lower dose to enable you to taper off of it to minimize the rebound effects.

Can you tell me if there is a differance in the effect to the patiant with these two pills? or are they really the same. Was on Bupropion SR 150 MG once a day. refill says Bupropion HCL XL 150 MG Tablet once a day. used for Depression in 14 year old female? ## They are the same, the SR and XL both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication. There are just several different abbreviations for it used by manufacturers and pharmacies. Learn more Bupropion details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take bupropion xl and have sent back the sr tablets because they dont last through the evening. A druggist told me I would have to take two sr tabs a day. XL means extended release. My doctor changed my script to XL ## I was started on the XL, which is...

My husband is taking bupropion hcl 150 mg medication in the morning along with citalopram 40 mg in the evening for depression. This is only the second day for the bupropion. He is 85 and also on Coumadiin. He is complaining this afternoon of like a stiff neck. Is this a reaction to the bupropion? He intends to stop taking the medication tomorrow morning until he can contact his primary care DR. Should he stop taking both medications citalopram tonight and bupropion tomorrow morning? Do we need to go to the ER yet today for these symtoms? ## Hello, Carol! How is your husband doing? At that point, it wasn't life-threatening to require a trip to the ER, but yes, the Bupropion has been known to cause a stiff neck and/or sore/stiff muscles in general in some people that take it. Current Bupropion HCL XL150 MB TABGLO are yellow oblong pills that are press-stamped 681. New Rx refill is Bupropion HC XL150 MG Tablets are small white pills tab ink stamped WPI 3331...is there just a difference in manufacturer? ## Yes, that is correct, they are both the same medication, in the same dosage and formulation, just made by different companies. It is common for a pharmacy to switch which one they provide, depending on who was offering the cheapest price whenever they needed to restock. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What exactly is the difference in Bupropion HCL XL and Bupropion SR? ## I have been taking Bupropion HCL XL 150 mg round white tablets for several years. Several months ago, my pharmacist refilled my prescription with a different color and shaped pil...

I've been prescribed Bupropion XL to take 2 150 mg once daily. I feel it's not enough. Has anyone tried cutting the pills in half to add 75mg more a day? Are there any risks associated with it? ## You cannot cut these tablets, the XL means that they are time released and cutting them could cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Learn more Bupropion details here. How long have you been taking it? It does take about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full effect in your body and for you to know if it is going to work for you. So, you may just need to give it a little more time. ## Try getting the 300mg XL instead of taking 2 150mg once a day it could make a big difference!

I've been taking Watson bupropion 150 XL (first 2 daily, then increased to 3 daily) for many years. I found all the other generics ineffective or worse.( I took brand before generics were approved). When the FDA declared testing showed Watson 300 XL and two other generics were not found to be bioequivalent to brand, Watson "voluntarily" withdrew the 300 XL. Evidently the 150 XL was also taken off the market, because it cannot be found anywhere, either in mail order or retail pharmacies. Does Watson's Acquisition of Actavis mean the Actavis buproprion is Watson's formula or Actavis'? I'd be interested in more feedback here on the Actavis generic and the Par that I'm now taking, which for me is the equivalent of taking absolutely nothing. I've been so s...

Can this medication be crushed and if not, is it available in a chewable or liquid form? I will be needing this in an alternative form in a few months and am looking into the alternatives ahead of time in order to be prepared. ## No, this one cannot, because the XL designates it as being time released. However, there is a regular release formulation available that you may be able to switch to, if you speak to your prescriber about it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with?

the most recent refill of bupropion a 101 has been leaving my digestive tract undissolved. my food is digesting as usual. what's the deal? ## Hello, Bobble! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being a 150mg Budeprion XL tablet, which is most commonly used to treat depression and as a smoking cessation aid. That said, that is just the shell of the pill that's being expelled. That is normal with time released medications. But you are getting the full dose, just as prescribed. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I don't understand how a pharmaceutical co . Has a problem manufacturing meds. That is what I was told. I was taking Bupropion XL 150 mg (Anchen). The pharmacy wasn't able to get anymore of this. My Dr substituted Bupropion 100 mg x 2 a day (Mylan). I am having side effects that I never Had before. Can 50mg do that ? Anxiety, nervousness, trouble sleeping - all of which I never had before! Or could it be the difference between the 2 companies? Does anyone know how I could contact Anchen? Thanks ## Hello, Steff! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. There are two things going on here that could be contributing to your issue. One is the dosage change, that's going to cause more side effects, and the other is the formulation change, you went from...

I've been taking this medication for almost 4 weeks. The first two weeks taking the medication was great, but these last two weeks has been horrible. I've been having motion sickness for two weeks and a lil dizziness every once in awhile. It has helped with my nightmares, but I get so discouraged because the motion sickness is depressing. I wanted to see if the A101 pill or the 3331 150mg pill will make a difference. I've seen XL, SA and SR and it all confuses me why there are so many pills that are related to this medication. I am going to see if my Dr. can change it to a different number, the #13 pill is terrible. ## When a medication is available as a generic it is usually manufactured by various different pharmaceutical companies, whichever one you receive from any given...

I've been taking bupropion XL 150 mg once a day now for 6 days now and as the day go on I have a strange feeling in my body kind of like some anxiety by the evening!! I also take 40mg of Fluoxetine daily. I've been taking 20 mg of the fluoxetine for 25 years with no side effects. But this feeling I get from the bupropion is not good. My Dr added it because the depression started coming back!! I also have dry mouth and a faint headache. Will these symptoms go away? ## Hello, Maud! How are you? Yes, these symptoms may go away, after a month or so, once your body gets used to the medication. In the meantime, you may want to talk to your doctor about splitting your dose of Fluoxetine, taking half in the morning and half in the evening, that may help. Is there anything else I can hel...

Does anyone else have Accord for the manufacturer? And do your pills smell like sulfur/rotten eggs? ## Yes! I just got my 150mg XL refill. the mfr is accord healthcare and they smell like rotten eggs. I'm not taking them. Going to try to get brand name. I didn't have this problem when I took 75mg twice a day. ## Some medications naturally have a smell due to the specific chemicals involved in their ingredients. You don't always smell it, however, because some manufacturers coat their pills to hide the odor. The FDA warns that Bupropion may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and dry mouth. Ref: Bupropion Information Is there anything else I can help with?

Any reported trouble with the 300XL or 150 XL not digesting? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? This subject has been mentioned frequently in regards to several time released medications and, just as I have with everyone else, I can assure you that if you are seeing the tablet in your feces, you are just seeing the outer shell. The medication, however, is still absorbed and used by your body. There is a type of time released formulation that uses a substance that is almost similar to a little sponge in the pill, it and the medication are sealed inside the shell. Two tiny spots are left with just a thin outer covering over them, so that thin layer dissolves almost immediately, when the tablet meets your stomach acid. Then, minuscule amounts of your stomach acid are slowly absorbed through one o...

I have been on Bupropion 150mg XL for years and am now switching to 75mg SR but cutting the 150mg SR pill (MU12) in half per my doctor's directions. Is it safe to cut the pill and take it on a daily basis? The official Mylan site says not to, but that was my doctor's directions. Would like to get other opinions before I start. ## Hello, Gary! How are you? Well, only your doctor can speak to their own rationale, but my best guess would be that since you've already been taking the higher dosage, they don't see much risk of your overdosing by cutting this tablet. Unless you're taking the whole tablet, you won't get the full 150mgs. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. H...

I started on bupropion xl 150 mg, taking it to help with my libido ( 50+ years old going through menopause) and weight loss. Libido was great and lost a few pounds first week then nothing. Dr increased to 300 mg... I have been taking for 4 weeks, no weight loss and no libido.... I know this med can take awhile to work... any thoughts, will it begin to work soon? Anyone experience same thing? ## That's rather odd, while the FDA does list it as not being known to decrease libido, it is also not known to increase it in most people that take it. It is also not usually used, by itself to aid in weight loss, it is usually accompanied with Naltrexone. The FDA warns that this combination, known as Contrave, may cause headache, nervousness, dizziness, and anorexia. Did your doctor try you on...

I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? It would really make more sense to stay at ...

round pill pink 555 ## I was just switched from Bupropion SR 150 3x a day to Buprobion ER 200 2x a day. But the pharmacy label on the new bottle says Buproprion HCL ER 200 and below that generic for Bupropion HCL SR 200 but it's only twice a day. I thought only the brand (XL) was still the only 2x a day version. So now I'm totally confused about the difference between SR, ER, and XL. I'd been feeling worse, but the last 3x a day was for 150. So seems like now my dosage has been reduced? Does this make sense. (My doctor also has a pharmacy degree, and gets *very* annoyed at being questioned about my medicines.) I feel so dumb, but I just can't figure this out. Could someone here please straightened me out--unconfuse me? Thanks very much! ## Hello, Meg! How are you doing? ...
