a reddish orange round-shaped tablet imprinted with E704 I ordered BIsoprolol/hctz 5MG/6.25 for high blood pressure, they are blue and I got this instead. Will not take them until I find out more. I have 90 pills of 5/6.25 Ziac tabs. I have a new scrip for 10/6.25 Ziac. My question is can I take two 5/6.25 ziac in place of 1one 10/6.25 ziac until my old scrip is used up?Thanks ## You would be doubling up on the Bisoprolol, which may cause problems, such as severe lowering of your heart rate and hypotension. And conversely, it you stop taking this dosage abruptly to try to go back down to the regular dose, you may experience a rebound effect, which might elevate your heart rate and blood pressure. Have you consulted your doctor about doing this? It really would be best if you just switch to the new dosage.

Just trying to find out what this drug is since the other two I put in is also a blood pressure. That will make me taking 3 blood pressure at one time. ## Hello, Jeanette! How are you? I have been getting the generic version Ziac 5-6.25 for years from Prescription Solutions. Now they say it is unavailable with no future date of availability. What is going on? ## I have no information on why there is a shortage, but there is one currently reported by Sandoz, they list it as being backordered. Have you spoken to your doctor? They may be able to suggest an alternative medication, or prescribe separate tablets of the Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide.

Today I recieved this but it is a blue tablet with ( 5 0 3 ) on one side of it and the letter M on the other side. the pharmasicst said that it was a generic brand that has a beta blocker in it. I do not know what that is either. And this is my first time having to take any type of high blood pressure pill. Can you tell me if this is correct or not. Is this drug going to be discontinued? ## Hello, Carma! How are you? Not that I'm aware of and several searches haven't turned up anything say that it is going to be discontinued. Did you someone tell you that it was? This medication is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dehydration, increased urination and hypotension. Was taken 1 tablet daily of bisoprolol/hctz tab 10/6.25. My Dr changed med to lisinopril tab 20mg once a day. Would two tabs of bisoprolo above be the same as the lisinopril? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? No, they are not the same going by what you've listed. The Bisoprolol/HCTZ actually contains 2 ingredients, the Hydrochlorothiazide being a diuretic, so your doctor has basically removed that and has you just taking a blood pressure medication, now. Question? My doctor prescribed Bisopr/hctz tab 10/6.25 and Lisinopril 20 mg. The directions are to take 1 tablet twice a day. Does this mean take one pill in the a.m. and one in p.m? ## it generally mean that yes. usually 12 hours apart or around a bout. ## Basically, if the prescription does not specifically say to take it every 12 hours, then you should take it when you wake up, or with breakfast and then take the next dose at dinner time.

My husband picked up my refill today. When I opened it to fix my meds for the week I discovered it is a new color. My pharmacy is closed. It is usually a sm all white pill. My mom is 94. She was put on bisoprolol in march. Recently she has begun to experience frequent urination going most of the day. It has increased within the past week especially. I have been taking BISOPR/HCTZ 10/6.25 for quite some time with very good results. I recently began seeing the VA and was prescribed Hydrochloriothiazide 25MG, half a tablet a day along with Bisoprolol Fumarate 10MG a day in place of it. Is this okay? It seems at even half a tablet, the Hydrochlorothiazide is a little high. ## It is commonly used in much higher doses than that. Has your blood pressure been under control? Did they give you a reason for the switch in dosage? It may lower your blood pressure even more or cause some dehydration if you are not carefully monitored.

I was given blue round pills with M on one side and 503 on the other. This was mistakenly given to me by the pharmacy instead of my generic for Ziac which is white with 501 on it.
