since i started taking this medication i find it very difficult to pass urine...is this normal?? ## Looks like this medication isn't manufactured in the US, but I was able to find the active ingredient to be Bisoprolol. Side effects for this drug are listed below (I believe one or more of these side effects can indirectly make it difficult to urinate): Overdose of Bisoprolol leads to fatigue, hypotension, low blood sugar, bronchospasms and bradycardia. Bronchospasms and low blood sugar because at high doses drug can be an antagonist for 2 adrenergic receptors located in lung and in liver. Bronchspasm due to blockage in lungs of 2 receptor and low blood sugar because of decreased stimulation of glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis in the liver via 2 receptor. Is it better to take my 5mg dose in the morning or evening? ## What has your doctor advised? This contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker that is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Learn more: In most cases, doctors will prescribe these types of medications to be taken in the morning, because then it helps give better blood pressure control during the times of day that you are most active and it may have the most fluctuations. However, if someone experiences a lot of side effects, then they may be told to take it in the evening, to prevent experiencing these problems during the day. Therefore, it's always best to consult your doctor on when the b...

could this medication cause frequent urinal visit to washroom ## Hello, Mar! How are you? Yes, it certainly can. Almost all of the blood pressure/cardiac medications can do so, because of the way they work in the body. You should make sure that you take in enough fluids to prevent dehydration, unless you have been place on fluid restriction by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Bisocor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker that is used to treat hypertension and other cardiac problems. I'm 63 and was admitted 4 weeks ago to ICU in a Pretoria Hospital and for the first time was diagnosed with hi BP and irregular heart beat from 50 to 148 and a problem in the lower heart chambers. They repair a valve and Adco Bisocor 5mg was prescribe for the high BP and Arycor 200 for the irregular heart beat and Warfarin to regulate the blood thickness and Aspavor 20mg for cholesterol. From the time I was discharge upto today I haven't slept more than 2hrs at a time because of terrible muscle pains. I've just retired 3months ago and my Dr is 1250 km's away and the closest other Dr is 120km's away, is it the Adco Bisocor or Aspavor, both mention muscle pains. My pulse vary from 50 to 57. This was my first time ever in a hospital or any serious sickness. ## Hello, Ha...

The doctor prescribed Hexarone for me but the opthalmologist eventually found a residue deposit as a result of the meds on my corneas. The specialist changed the meds to Bisohexal, later on the new Med Aid scheme changed it to Adco-Bisocor. The film on my corneas are getting worse. I don't know whether it is the active ingredient BISOPROLOL - but I need help urgently, my sight is getting 'hazier'. I am 63 years old and had an eye stroke 2 years ago. I cannot find anything on the Internet that addresses this problem of residue on the corneas. ## What are the side effects of Bisocor? ## Patricia, are they certain it's from the medication? Bisocor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditi...

Does this medication reduce pulse rate? ## Yes, it can cause a lowered heart/pulse rate as a side effect. This medication contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness and hypotension. The main thing you have to watch for is how much it's lowering your heart rate, if it's dipping below 60 beats per minute, then it is a concern that should be discussed with your doctor. It should naturally be lower when you are sedentary, but it should go up when being active. If you are a high performance athlete, yours may be lower when resting and that may be normal for you. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## Why wou...

I have been prescribed Dco-Biscor 5 mg 1/4 daily What is the nearest dosage available? ## Adco Bisocor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker that is used to treat hypertension and cardiac conditions. I am afraid it is only available in 5mg or 10mg tablets, so if your doctor wants you take less, you will have to cut the tablet. It may cause side effects, like: nausea, headache, dizziness and drowsiness. More details: Are there any other comments or questions?

I am 71 but very active, I am also diabetic type 2 and take metformin and glibencizide every morning and evening. My doctor gave me lisinopril 10mg and bisocor 2.5 mg (half a tablet) for high blood pressure, I am keeping it at approx 125/75 with this medicine. My blood sugar is between 5 and 7 mml and my blood tests are okay. I have had a stress testfor my heart and that was okay, I am overweight at 110kg but am trying to lose weight. I feel shaky inside and lacklustre, could my medicine be causing a reaction. Every time I see my doctor, he sends me for tests and basically they all come back okay. I am not a whining hypochondriac, just a normal guy who would like to feel normal. I live in Zimbabwe where the medical facilities are not that great.

Need to know all of the ingredients, active and inactive/other, of Adco-Bisocor please, as I am allergic to lactose, citric acid, etc. ## Sorry, I am new to this forum and do not know the ropes yet. This is not a reply, I am only trying to be more specific. As I use quite a few different chronic medications and am allergic to some ingredients, I need to know as much as possible about them. As my dr could not get hold of the regular CiplaZar 100 I usually take, he had to substitute it with Bilocor. As they both are generics, the inactive ingredients may differ and I was hoping that Bilocor does not contain the accursed citric acid and lactose which seem to be in more or less everything I have to take. Taking ten different chronic medications, the effect of all allergens combined is devas...

I am taking adco bisocor 5mg for high blood pressure. I now have palpitations and my doctor has given me pur-bloka for it. I would like to know if these two drugs are compatible? ## Hello, Morag! How are you? No, these are both in the same drug family and treat the same things, so only one should be taken. Taking them together could cause a life threatening lowering of your blood pressure and heart rate, as listed by the FDA. Are you sure he didn't mean for you to replace it with the new prescription?

I have been on Bisocor 10mg for a number of years and have discovered by chance the bad affect on my breathing it caused. I need to stop taking it but understand it must be done slowly. How slow should that be? ## Hi Leetjie, Sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing with this medication. From what I understand, usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them "under a doctor's supervision"; if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. However, due to the severe nature of withdrawals, in my honest opinion, it would be wise to discuss a taperi...

Hi I am taking Adco Bisocor 5mg. I drink it at night as prescribed by my Doctor. I have been drinking it for about two weeks but only from yesterday I have to urinate frequently during the day. So can Adco Bisocor cause frequent urination during the day even though I drink it at Night? And why has it only started happening now? I started thinking I could be pregnant as I am nauseas through out the day as well and dizzy but that is also all symptoms of Adco Bisocor. Please help. ## The only way to find out if you're pregnant would be to have yourself checked for it. But yes, those can also be side effects of the medication and the probable reason for them starting now is because it takes a couple of weeks for the medication to reach its full therapeutic level in your body. After anot...

I am 41 years old. My doctor prescribed me adco-bisocor 10 after I have given birth stillborn prematurely caused by high blood pressure, and the clinic also prescribed me redig 25 and pharmapress 10. Then i asked the doctor about these two prescriptions from the clinic and he told me to use it as well, but I feel side effects of dizziness, painful feet, weaknesses in my knees and arms, and irregular heart beating. Is it right to continue with all the doses at one time or can I reduce adco-bisocor to 5mg? Also, can I use adco-bisocor during my pregnancy period?

I am taking Twynsta and Adco Bisocor , is this wise ? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? Has your doctor prescribed both medications? They can safely be taken together, if appropriate. This is often done when someone has treatment resistant hypertension or it was just found to be very high and needs to be brought down quickly.

I changed my BP drugs to Adco Bisocor - a small dose of 5mg a day for marginally raised BP. The previous drugs were causing hair loss and severe weight loss, as well as loss of appetite. At first the Adco Bisocor seemed fine - I've been on it about 4 years now. The hair loss and weight loss were almost totally reversed. However, I have now once again been losing weight, some hair, and have been extremely dehydrated to the extent that my mouth is almost too dry to speak. Can this be the drug? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The active ingredient in this is Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker and yes, it is always possible for a medication to suddenly start causing new side effects, because our bodies are always changing. However, you should check with a doctor to determine whether...

It may, however, cause side effects, like nausea, dizziness and joint/muscle aches. More details: In addition to using it, you should also watch the amount of fats and cholesterol in your diet and make sure to get enough proper exercise. Bisocor Plus contains Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide, so this is the one used to treat your hypertension. Side effects from it may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomac...
