Hello, i've been feeling dizzy for a few days now and sometimes i see double or blurry. After the dizziness goes away my heart beats very fast. Betahistine, which is usually used to treat vertigo, has a maximum recommended daily dose of 48mgs, given in divided doses, either 2 or 3 times a day. Taking a higher dosage can also increase the likelihood of side effects, such as headache, nausea and weight loss, thus it's really not advisable to increase the dosage, without your doctor's approval. I'm on NovoBetahistine for my "Vertigo".I had to stop taking this medication while my doctor had the section 8 paper approved,it has been almost 3 months since I had this medicine.Now I am getting severe headaches,and I was wondering if me stopping this med without weaning myself off it would cause these as a side effect ## Based on my research, headaches can be are a rare but serious side effect of Betahistine. The prescribing information states that you should contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are either severe or bothersome. Betavert 16 tds can cause migraines, many hypersensitive reactions like blood pressure variations, persistent light headedness etc. Any side effect needs to be reported to doctor ASAP.
