I had it put away sealed tight I poured some in my hand to check for any discoloration and looks clear as the first day we use. He is complaining of ear pain and I was just wondering if I can still use these drops since the expiration date is for 10/2016 which is this month? ## Hello, Tita! How are you? This is not actually an antibiotic, both of the medications it contains are used to alleviate pain and inflammation. If he has an ear infection, he will need an antibiotic, in addition to these drops. The FDA warns that the side effects of such drops may include dizziness, headache, ear stuffiness, and drainage. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long can u use this after it expires? ## Hi cindt, According to the manufacturer, Otic Edge (acetic acid + antipyrine + benzocaine + Policosanol) should be properly discarded when it is expired or no longer needed. They then recommend contacting your pharmacist or waste company for specific details on how to go about that safely. Pills are one thing, but when it comes to liquid eye drops, I don't think there's anyway to know for sure if the contents are still safe outside of the marked expiration date, because it may be difficult to determine if the product is degrading or not. How long has it been since the listed expiration date?

What is the expiration date on it from your pharmacy? Liquids tend to degrade faster and usually have a very short shelf life, anywhere from 10 days to a month, in many cases. ## I have an ear ache. Can I take clindamycin I have from 9/2/2015? ## Antipyrine and Benzocaine ear drops works good for my earaches. It clear up my pain and fluid behind the ear drum
