How often should augmentin 875mg be taken? I was prescribed 30tabs for a throat infection. ## my 91yo aunt has pneumonia in both lungs was given today Augmentin 875mg 2x/day and took the first at 5pm and wants to take the second at midnight, after 7 hours from the first. Is this going to be OK? She doesn't want to get up at 5am to take another, and doesn't want to wait til she wakes at 8am and be late three hours. Our 11 yr old (72 lbs) was prescribed Augmentin for suspected bacterial infection. He developed some of the "rare side effects" which have finally subsided except for the dizziness upon standing/walking. Last dose taken more then 48 hrs ago and still feeling dizzy. If an antibiotic is required, it's usually just plain Amoxicillin. Have you checked with your doctor or dentist? The dose is also usually right around 1,000mgs or so taken just before you go in for the procedure.

how far apart (timing) do I need to take this drug? ## You really don't need to worry about being exactly precise on the interval. If you are supposed to take them 3 times a day, then doing so at breakfast, lunch and dinner will be fine. Learn more Augmentin details here. can augmentin be used and still take my weekly methotrexate injection? ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? Augmentin contains Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid and while it can be taken with Methotrexate, the dosage does have to be carefully adjusted. The Augmentin tends to lower the excretion of the Methotrexate, which raises the levels in your body and can cause toxicity.

Horrible med taken for diverticulitis. 2 Mos after 825 mgs, 2 x daily, 10 day dosage: all orig side effects remain with increased intensity: burning skin/rashes, sensitivity to light/sun, severe arthritis in hands/feet, myalgia, urination frequency, unbearable back pain. The med/pharmacy community nows little about this or professing not to. My life before augmentin bears no resemblance to now. I cannot perform my daily activities .. disgusting. Have turned to acupuncture for relief .. plan to file a complaint against this med with any government agency applicable. NEVER TAKE THIS DRUG! IT MAY ROB YOU OF THE LIFE KNOWN BEFORE TAKING IT!

I was prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin for a badly infected finger. The pharmacist didn't have the exact drug so gave me amox tr-k clv 500 mg plus amoxicillin 500 mg to take together. The bottle for amoxicillin also says augmentin 500 mg. Within an hour of taking the first dosage, I became violently ill. I immediately discontinued both products but remained violently ill for over 18 hours, vomiting at intervals of no more than 30 minutes for the entire time. 15 days later, I still feel weak and listless.
