Spoke with Watson. Say that tabs are discontinued! I like the tabs as I can cut in half etc. ## Hi blondy, I haven't come across any specific details or announcements stating that the Fiorinal tabs have actually been discontinued. Actavis is the new "Watson" now since they recently bought them out. However, they come off to me as a pretty shady company, so it could be that they're slowly replacing some of the original Watson products without making any big announcements about it. That's just one theory anyway. Does anyone else have information on the availability of these tablets?

I am a 43 yr old GMA with social anxiety disorder & panic disorder. I have been on xanax since I was 25. I've heard twice in 6 months that xanax is going to be discontinued. Is this true? ## Hello, Nene! How are you? No, there haven't been any authentic reports of it being discontinued. It's been made harder to get, since it is so frequently abused, but that's the only change that I've found any information on. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm due for my next 50 tablets of 2mg Xanax in 20 days. Will it be off the market? This is concerning. Do I need to convert or use Valium to help with reducing my dose? Pl...

hydrocodone bitartrate elixir is being discontinued, i can only take oral solutions, ; oral cancer surgery, is there a substitution> ## Hi jetta, From what I could gather, the following three pain medications are also listed as having an oral liquid solution available: methadone oxycodone dilaudid (hydromorphone) There probably are many more options out there, but those are just a few possible alternatives I came across after a quick google search. I would also recommend discussing other options with your doctor, since he/she knows your medical history and can make certain suggestions based on what's worked for you in the past. I hope this helps! ## thank you david, they have replaced my lortab elixir with the hydrocodone 7.5/3.25 instead of 7.5/500-- i did not know they had an ...

Is Donnatal still being manufactured? I am told it will no longer be available. ## I have also been told that Donnatal is no longer available. But nothing else seems to help with my spastic colon.

i have a rx for it. can i get it filled? ## No, it has not been discontinued, but it has been restricted much more, so some pharmacies may not carry it. You'll need to go to various pharmacies and show them the prescription to find out which one still carries it and can fill it for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Has Bupap been discontinued and, if so, what replaces this med? It has helped my headaches tremendously with minimal side effects. ## Hello, Jacci! How are you? No, I didn't find anything about it being discontinued or there being a shortage. Did you check with your pharmacy? They may know more. There were actually several on the market that all contained Butalbital and Acetaminophen, so your doctor should be able to prescribe one of the others, if this one is no longer being manufactured. Side effects to this medication may include dizziness, nausea, sedation and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

It's true, I can't find the original formula at all, anywhere. Our pharmacist said they are not making it anymore because people want the orange flavored products. Konsyl Original Formula is the very best product out there, pure and simple, and I can't understand why the Konsyl corporation is stopping production. A very stupid move on their part. ## From what I have been able to find, it is listed as still being available, and has not been discontinued. But yes, some people do prefer the flavored products, however, my mother-in-law uses one that isn't flavored, she just mixes it with orange juice. There are many others that are also available that contain the fiber, without flavoring, they just might be under generic names, rather than Konsyl. The FDA warns that it may c...

Is it true that Respa AR is no longer being manufactured? When I went to Walmart to get my usual RX filled I was told it was no longer in production. ## That is correct. Respa-AR contained Belladonna Alkaloids, Chlorpheniramine and Pseudoephedrine. The problem stemmed from the fact that these were actually never FDA approved. Due to certain loopholes in the law, regarding drugs that were on the market, before the laws took effect, they were grandfathered in and were able to be sold for many years. However, recent crackdowns on such problematic drugs has enabled the FDA have them pulled from the market, if the manufacturer doesn't do full safety and efficacy studies, as is done for any other prescription medication. Both the Chlorpheniramine and the Pseudoephedrine are approved and t...

I would like to know why the drug Coumadin is being discontinued? I am from Trinidad WI and I have been informed that the drug is no longer being manufactured. I would like to know what is the reason for this and what are people like myself who have been on it for 22 years to do or take in instead? ## I would like to know where you got the info it is being discontinued? Please? ## The drug kills people. My mother died while taking it. And I lost a good friend who was 48 years old. ## Coumidin is not being discontinued. I have been on it for 1 yr and my numbers cannot get set and kept right. I jump from high to low and can't stay in the middle. But there is a new drug out. You take 2 pills a day 12 hours apart and no more blood testing. I am searching now for the medication as it is....

I can't find it anywhere. I've gone to Walgreen's, CVS, Walmart, K-Mart, and I just can't find it. Walgreen's and CVS have never heard of it. That was surprising. Can you tell me who carries it or where I can order it? ## There was a very recent topic about it on here, Aspergum has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Over the past few years, sales have severely declined and they have also had complaints regarding how dangerous it is, being in gum form, since young children may chew it, thinking it is just regular gum. ## OK, I read many of the posts and I'm sure the product was discontinued because it worked so well and would cut too deeply into the profit margins of other major products on the market. If anyone would even buy the patent for this product to ma...

I have been disappointed to find that Drixoral has become almost impossible to get, as the company has stopped shipping it to pharmacies. My Doctor suggested I take this once easily obtainable allergy remedy years ago,and it is the ONLY thing that has proven effective in eliminating my symptoms. I called Shering Plough, Drixoral's manufacturer and was told that there will be a temporary cease in the manufacture of this drug for one year, while it's place of manufacture is being changed. ## Adrienne, So are you saying that Drixoral is not actually discontinued, just a temporary hold on manufacturing? If that's the case then I know that there will be a lot of happy people... ## I am extremely pleased that Drixoral is not being discontinued, I also have never found any other me...

My son takes Saphris for Bi-polar disorder, our pharmacist (rite aid) said it is on back order and can no longer get it from any supplier! Is there a shortage? Or is it discontinued or both? ## Hello, Veve! How are you and your son? I'm sorry that you're having a problem finding his medication. However, I haven't been able to find anything listed with the FDA that there is a shortage or that it's been discontinued. But it's important to note that companies aren't actually required to report them, it is a voluntary thing. Saphris is listed as being an atypical antipsychotic that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes, dry mouth and somnolence. Have you contacted his doctor? He might need to have something else prescribed, in the meantime...

What are the medical community recommending in replacement? ## Hello Sharon, According to the FDA only certain dosages of the Adalat CC extended release is going to be discontinued as of now. Their list shows that the 10mg XR version of the pill is being discontinued but all the others are currently listed as currently being produced. I can't promise they won't close down the other XR dosages but for the moment only the 10mg has been affected. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.

RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT KETOPROFEN 200 MG EXTENDED RELIEF IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. IS THIS TRUE? ## what are the side effect of ketoprofen 75 mg mfg. by mylan? ## I just got a new prescription for the 200mg tablets with no worries. I live in the USA. ## My husband has been on ketoprofen for at least 15 years and has tried other meds for his arthritis. None have worked as well as ketoprofen, he was told by Rite Aid and Walgreen's that it is no longer being made. ## Boo-boo, I don't know why those stores told you that cause my mother was prescribed a pump bottle earlier this year on 4/20/2016. 120 mg from a 24hr rite aid store. ## I was on 200 extended release Ketoprofen was told by Walgreens it is no longer being manufactured. Do you know what they will substitute the hydrocodone whith ## Hi Rhonda, They're not actually discontinuing this medication. All they are really doing is lessening the amount of Acetaminophen in their products. It started sometime earlier this year, but all manufacturers have to abide by this new law which only allows up to 325 mgs of Acetaminophen. This is primarily due to safety concerns with liver toxicity. Some pain management patients suggest taking an extra Tylenol to make up for it. However I wouldn't necessarily recommend more of something that is considered to be so toxic. Perhaps steering more in the direction of natural alternatives would be a good choice if you're seeking additional relief with less side effects. I hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for your ...

I have been told that theophylline er is being discontinued. Is this true? I have taken it for years for asthma. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? I've not found anything about it being discontinued. Where you told that by a pharmacist or did it come from some other source? There were a couple that were discontinued back in 2003, due to the fact that it's rarely prescribed, anymore. But I've not read anything in my various resources that the current one available is being discontinued. Though, a doctor or pharmacist may, admittedly, have more updated information than I do. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and dry mouth. Does anyone else know anything about this? ## From what I've been told, all strengths of Theophylline is on bac...

Are these tablets Adderall, and are they a good brand? I also heard that they may be discontinued. Is that true as well? National Drug Code: 53489-0570 ## The yellow MP 447 30 mg is in fact generic Adderall. Has anyone tried them yet? These were just dispensed for my usual prescription. NDC: 57664-647 / 53489-570 Inactive ingredients: - Crospovidone - Magnesium Stearate - Cellulose, Microcrystalline - Povidones - Starch, Corn - D&C Yellow No. 10 Ref: DailyMed ## Even if someone does report their experience with these as being good, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll end up having the same reaction. Flurazepam is a benzodiazepine that carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and mood changes. My pharmacy told me that they can't buy mylan any more and they do not know if it is discontinued or not. Since Qualitest lorazepam was discontinued, Mylan is the only lorazepam that works (less effective than Qualitest) but works with less side effects than others (Watson, leading pharma, actavis: don't work causing serious side effects).
