I have been given some Penicillin VK for a sinus infection. I need to start taking norethisterone on Tuesday to delay my monthly cycle for a big event. These are both antibiotics, just of different classes, so it is essentially doubling up on the same thing, which is only done in certain situations, due to the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. I've been having a sore throat for the past few days. The symptoms got worse every day. I started to sneeze, cough, and got a fever. I filled a prescription for some Penicillin called Ampicillina 500 mg per capsule from Mexico. I was instructed to take them every 8 hours, however, 3 pills a day seemed a bit much for me so I took one at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23rd, and then another one 8 hours later. The next dose would have been at 7:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 24th, but I didn't take one till 9:30 a.m.. I forgot to take another 8 hours later, and I remembered this at 10:39 p.m., so I took another dose at 10:39 p.m.. I set an alarm this time but must have slept through it as I didn't wake up until 8:30 a.m., and I took the next dose at 8:39 a.m.. I do feel worse today, howeve...

I was taking penicillin and now need to switch to a zpak. How long should I wait before starting the new meds? ## Unless your doctor or pharmacist has said otherwise, you should be able to just cleanly switch from one to the other.
