Antibiotic Syrup For Fever

My daughter is 7 yrs old, she is 32kgs in weight. For the past 24hrs she has been getting high temperatures with chills, throat pain, headache and nausea. I have used P250 and Mefthal for severe fever. The fever is subsiding and after a while is recurring. Please suggest a suitable antibiotic along with what I am using. I am having a mild fever with a cough and cold and running nose since 4 days. I've taken paracetamol & Leon but my fever is still not going away and neither is the cold. ## A cold is caused by a virus, so an antibiotic will not help with that. My 5 year old son has 102/103 fever since yesterday night. I am giving him cal pol syrup every 5 hourly. He is complaining of severe headache aswell and is feeling very weak and drowsy... My three year old daughter was suffering from cough since the 20th of January along with high fever for nine days. The doctor said it was a viral fever and advised a paracetamol suspension + antibiotics (macberry-xt) as she had wheezing. I continued with two files of the same for long but when I stopped the medicine her coughing came back. Then doctor gave her medicine for allergies for fifteen days but now if I stop giving her any medicine she starts coughing again. It is March now. What is the remedy to all this? Now I administered Relent+ 5 ml one time in fifteen days. Is it harmful? How long can I continue giving my daughter Relent+ syrup?

sir i am having fever and cough, doctor prescribed me azithral 500, calpol 500, levocet and a cough syrup. What i want to know is about this antibiotics. Does it help in killing the viruses or it'll only supress it. Is it good to avoid the antibiotic and take the rest of the medicines? ## An Antibiotic will not do anything for a virus, it will not treat it, clear it up or suppress it. Antibiotics are only effective at treating bacterial infections. What medications you take are up to you, I can't tell you what you should or shouldn't take.
