I started taking my antibiotic and percocets 10 is there any problem taking them on da same day ## Hello, Luis! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. However, I can also tell you that these are often prescribed together, to treat an infection and the associated pain. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Percocet is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking Percocet 10s for a few months now, never more than 4 a day, and have recently been prescribed amoxicillin/clavulin 500/125mg. I'm wondering if there are any harmful interactions between the two? I've stopped the Percocet for a little over 24hrs and am now noticing a slight pain in the upper right side of my stomach. ## Hello, Jaye! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but you should always double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. However, there are often prescribed together, so that the Percocet can relieve pain, until the antibiotic has time to do its work. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi there, I've been prescribed this for the start of a flu, I recently went to a dentist for a tooth pain and the dentist has given me Clonamox 500GM caps to take , can I take these at the same time , otherwise I am normally very healthy. Thanks Daniel ## Hello, Daniel! How are you? An antibiotic will not help with the flu, or its symptoms, since it is caused by a virus and antibiotics only treat bacterial infections. Additionally, these both contain Amoxicillin, so there isn't any point in taking both. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a cough, wheezing chest and congestion, I've been taking OTC cold and cough for 3 days with no luck curing this condition. I have some Amox/K Clav 500mg left over form an other infection...will this work on what I now have? ## Hi Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Amox/ K Clav (Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium) will only help if the cough you are experiencing is caused by an upper respiratory infection. You could take the medication, but if it doesn't work the cough probably just needs to run its course. If I can recommend anything, it would be the essential oils Peppermint, Lavender, and Copaiba along with honey to sooth the throat. If you are interested in purchasing any of these oils, I would check out Young Living. I've used Copaiba o...

I have enlargement of lymph nodes, can I use Amox K Clav 500-125? ## @Frank, Even though infections are the most common cause of swollen lymph nodes, it's not necessarily the only cause. For this reason I'd still encourage you to speak with your doctor about diagnosing the cause, before taking an antibiotic (if in fact you end up not needing to take it). In the event that it is an infection, Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium (500 mg - 125 mg) does cover a broad spectrum of bacteria, so in my opinion it may be a feasible approach. You can read more on the causes and treatment options for swollen lymph nodes here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003097.htm I hope this helps!

I was wondering if a large amount of amoxil & clavunate k 500/125mg 30 ( that's exactly what my capsule says on it)will make you feel oozy, drowsy or sleep. Because I was told to take 2tabs 3 times a day and to take with food. Seems sketchy to me because I've been prescribed to this medication. Before and last time is said to take 1 tab twice a day. Or is it depending how bad the illness is? My job is a bit far from home and I would like to be driving like this. ## Hello, Luan! How are you? Yes, the dose can be dependent on the severity of the infection being treated. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed two amoxicillins for pneumonia. Amoxicillin 500mg and Amoxicillin /K Clav 875-125. Im suppose to take both twice a day and levofloxacin 750mg once a day. Is this too much antibiotics? ## Hello, Ruth! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're ill. No, multiple antibiotics are often prescribed, in the case of severe infections, to try to get the bacteria under control, so it can be eradicated as fast as possible. You may, however, experience more severe side effects than when taking only one, such as more severe dizziness, drowsiness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No further questions. Thank you for your response and for your care. Im doing quite well considering. Thanks again! ## You are welcome and I s...

I have stuffed sinus .. cough and are tired/weak. I have amox/K Clav 500-125 .. would it be helpful towards these symptoms?? How many pre day should I take? ## Amoxicillin is a antibotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections. A cold is a viral infection, so it would do no good. ## @Becky Burnside, BL is correct, the Amoxicillin will not be effective for the cold. If I can recommend anything, it would be to intake as many fruits/vegetables as possible (especially citrus fruits due to their high vitamin C content!). Also, water with real lemon juice is a really easy way to build your immune system and should definitely help to fight off the cold sooner. I've read that it's most beneficial to drink the amount of water (in ounces) that is equal to half of your body weight. For ex...

My family doctor prescribed 4 Amox/K 500-125 Tab to be taken at one time before a dental procedure because of my heart problems. Is this safe to take 4 pills at one time. ## Hi Lois, According to the drug monograph for that 500mg tab, the dosing indications are listed at 1 tablet every 8 hours for 7-10 days. However, on the stronger version of this medication, the maximum recommended dose is listed at 1 tablet of Amoxicillin (875mg) + clavulanic acid (125mg) every 12 hours for 7 - 10 days. Based on that, it sounds to me like you took a few too many at one time. If you start feeling any repercussions from having done that, you may want to look into getting some probiotics. The good bacteria is healing to your gut and also prevents things like yeast infections (which can be a side effect ...

I’m American, male, 25, 5”11 and weight 140. No smoking and currently taking Amox/k clav 875-125mg tablets (1 tablet two times a day for 7 days). Before that starting on the 12th I was taking amoxicillin 500mg (1 cap two times a day for 10 days) until the 19th then on the next day the 20th I started on the Amox/k and will finish this today. I’m not exactly sure when iit started maybe 3-4 days ago, but a spot on my face next to nose started to burn and has gotten worse now turning slightly reddish with burning stinging itchiness and a little flaky. My face around that area feels really greasy/oily, that the idea of scratching it makes me think I’ll peel/rub off some skin.
