Aggrastat Tirofiban

Tirofiban, sold under the brand name Aggrastat, is an antiplatelet medication. It belongs to a class of antiplatelets named glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors. Tirofiban is a small molecule inhibitor of the protein-protein interaction between fibrinogen and the platelet integrin receptor GP IIb/IIIa and is the first drug candidate whose origins can be traced to a pharmacophore-based virtual screening lead.[2][3] Tirofiban has been available as a generic medicatio...

I was given 15 Mg MS CONTIN. About 4 hrs after taking it I feel extremely agitated. grrrrrr!!! I was prescribed this 2 days ago. I take it for hand and arm pain 1 pill every 12 hrs. Little bit of pain still not so bad but this irritated aggravated feeling is making me want to climb the walls. Does it ever go away? Please help in away way to even possibly give me some ideas that alleviated this agitation or how to deal. Thank you. ## Interestingly enough, "agitation" is listed as a general side effect of MS Contin (controlled-release morphine). Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682133.html#side-effects Usually in cases like this, the side effects wont necessarily go away until you stop taking what's causing them in the first place. There's not really a supplemen...

I have been on aggrenox for about eight months. I have a lot of muscle and joint pain and suffer from chronic fatigue. (thigh/ hip/ pelvic) I am wondering if anyone else has experienced these symtoms? ## I have severe neck and back/sholder pain with the 50 mg pill and the dr.s act like i am stupid as if they have never heard of this. I do have fibromyalgia and thought that might have some to do with it. Can you get anyone to listen? ## I was put on aggrenox following a TIA and shortly afterward suffered a severe headache that radiated down my neck and across my shoulders. I stopped taking it and am now on plavix which is much better. However, even 2 days after last taking aggrenox, I still suffer from neck and shoulder pain, particularly when under even minor stress. ## My Dad starting ...

He hasn't been on the 40 mg long. All together he has been on the medicine for 2 months. IS IT SAFE TO GO OFF THIS MEDICATION FOR 4 DAYS PRIOR TO AN OUTPATIENT SURGICAL PROCEDURE AS REQUESTED BY MY SURGEON ? (REMOVAL OF A SMALL FACIAL SKIN CANCER ). ## Have you also discussed it with your regular doctor? Since Aggrenox contains the active ingredients Aspirin and Dipyridamole, it can increase the risk of bleeding and surgical complications, so it is very common for surgeon to want someone to stop taking such medications, for a few days, before surgery.

I took Tedral for years as a youngster suffering badly with Asthma. Also I had a spinhaler which used to put holes in a tablet which you then inhaled. They both seemed to work just fine, but I did also have a course of steroid injections weekly to give me a boost (I think). But now I am 51 years old and suffer badly from aggression! Could there be any connection with my childhood medication intake? Has anyone else suffered from this? I am not a nasty person, but sometimes 'boom' I lose it. ## Usually, mood changes, including aggression would be associated with side effects from steroids, these symptoms should have been noticed back when you were taking them, not years later. Do you know what the name of the steroid was? Depending on how young you were, they may have caused some ...

I've been on Aggrenox for 10 months and I'm severely anemic and getting iron infusions! I believe the aspirin in it causes bleeding. I cant take Plavix, so I don't know what they're going to put me on. I have muscle and joint problems too. ## What do you take it for? Specifically to prevent stroke, or just as a blood thinner? If it is just as a blood thinner, there may be other options, such as Warfarin. ## I take it to prevent a stroke, had one in Jan 2010, and while on plavix had a tia in July 2011, then Dec 2011 had a stroke to my optic nerve in my right eye! I do not want to be on a blood thinner, had my 4th infusion yesterday and got 5 more to go! Aggrenox makes my muscles weak, there has to be something else that doesn't make you anemic? scared to go off of cau...

problem making payments or getting this medication for the payment could not find the medication Aggrenox 200-25mg ## Hello, James! How are you? I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm clearly understanding you. Are you looking for an assistance program to make the medication cheaper? There is an assistance program for low-income uninsured individuals, as well as a co-pay card. I can help you find information on one of them, if you can tell me what specifically you're needing help with! Thanks! This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, stomach irritation and blood thinning.

Please let me know the rational for the use of aspirin and dipyridamole. I am intersested in MOA (mechanism of action for aggrenox) OF AGGRENOX. * * Edited by Site Admin 6/9/2005 11:23:12 AM PDT * * ## Is this the information you were looking for? Mechanism of Action The antithrombotic action of AGGRENOX (aspirin/extended-release dipyridamole) is the result of the additive antiplatelet effects of dipyridamole and aspirin. Dipyridamole Dipyridamole inhibits the uptake of adenosine into platelets, endothelial cells and erythrocytes in vitro and in vivo; the inhibition occurs in a dose-dependent manner at therapeutic concentrations (0.5-1.9 µg/mL). This inhibition results in an increase in local concentrations of adenosine which acts on the platelet A2-receptor thereby stimulating pla...

I have been on Pristiq for about a year, after being on Zoloft for about 4. Zoloft was making me like a zombie, but ever since I've been on Pristiq, my wife and I fight, and I am barely able to control myself to the point I have now been physical with her, and I hate myself for this. I am sure it's the drugs, but probably me too. ## Hi Dave, From what I could gather, any signs of aggression you're experiencing are more than likely due to Pristiq. Agitation was listed as a side effect on some webpages, but there are also other side effects that in my opinion could eventually lead to having a short temper. A list of side effects can be found here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a608022.html#side-effects It may be a good idea to try a more natural approach to getting rid...

I'm just not sure what is going on...I've been on Aggrenox for several weeks, at first I just had a mild headache for a few days and that's about it...and then I came down with a cold & running nose with body aches....it's about 5 days later and I'm still having a sick-like flu feeling...I'm trying to figure out whether it's the Aggrenox or if I'm still infected with the flu virus...all my family at present has the flu... ## It is hard to say, because Aggrenox has been known to cause upper respiratory tract infections, as a side effect in some people that take it, along with coughing, nausea, headache, and dizziness. So, it could be the medication, illness, or even a combination of both. How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? Have you co...

I have been on 50mg for about 2 years now, but suddenly am more aggitated than normal, could I need a larger dose or change ..? ## Hi Bj, From the looks of things it sounds like your body has become quite tolerant to Zoloft. Having been on it for about 2 years can build up a tolerance even slightly enough to make that much of a difference. If you would like more information on Zoloft, please take a look at the link below... Since you probably have become tolerant to this drug, I personally would not go for a larger dosage, because you will eventually become tolerant to an even larger amount. I cannot tell you what to take or how much to consume because I am not an MD, but it would certainly be a good idea to change the drug and/or cycle Zoloft on and off every few weeks or so to countera...

My son has just been perscribed prozac for his anxiety and aggression due to his lack of interpersonal skills, caused by Aspegers Syndrome. he was on concerta and tenex, they are no longer effective. Any idea if this will be an effective route for him? He cant function in school without something because of his disorder. Also will it help with his sleep disruption. he doesnt sleep for days and even with remeron still wakes in teh middle of the night. ## Well, there's really no way to say if any given medication will be effective for any given person that tries it. They only thing you can do is try it and see if it helps. Learn more Prozac details here. Prozac is very effective for many people, so there's a good chance that it may help, but it all really depends on the person. Si...

I have been taking contrave for about 2 years on and off and have lost around 50-60 lb. I was diagnosed this year with menears disease I began suffering from horrible vertigo attacks and ringing in my ears. I believe I am noticing a change in my behavior from Irritability to aggression. I am also noticing stiffness and joint pain epecially in my knees. I have been able to maintain my weight with the help of contrave and exercise. I feel now it may be critical that I stop taking it asap, These are all listed as potential side effects, why now ? ## Unfortunately, there is no real way to say how any medication may affect any given person that tries it. It can vary from person to person. According to FDA reports, there is also no way to know how we may react to any given medication, as time...

My adult daughter is displaying increased agitation and anger since she is on Vyvance. She has been off it for 2 or 3 days and is feeling horrible. I do not think she ever had ADD or ADHD when the doc prescribed the med. I feel she has been displaying symptoms of ADHD - confusion, irritation, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, etc, since being on the Vyvance. Has anyone had similar experiences?? ## Vyvanse contains the active ingredient Lisdexamfetamine, so it is a stimulant, commonly used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy. However, these can be side effect for some people, even if they do have ADHD. It can cause: insomnia, irritabillity, agression and nervousness. is aggression and suicidal thoughts a side effect of mirtrazapine ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and yes, there are some instances where this class of medications has been known to actually cause these types of symptoms, rather than alleviate them. The person taking it should contact their doctor immediately, because it is probably not the right medication for them to use and they more than likely have to try something else.
