Is the blue and yellow fiorinal codeine capsule imprinted with "watson 956"? Is the manufacturer Actavis? Is it a brand or generic version? ## This capsule is manufactured by Watson Laboratories and they list it as being the brand name Fiorinal with Codeine. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## I can not take very many medicines without allergic reactions. Does Phenergan with codeine contain any form of soy as an inactive ingredient? ## Hi Linda, Based on my research, Phenergan + Codeine (manufactured by Actavis) does not appear to contain any type of soy or soy derivatives. So you should be fine in that regard. For your own verification, this particular medication contains the following list of inactive ingredients: D&C Red #33, FD&C Blue #1, Citric acid, corn syrup, flavor, propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, propylparaben, methylparaben, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, and purified water. What pharmacy companies manufactured and produced promethazine codeine? Is Watson one of them? ## @bankrolled, From what I could gather, promethazine codeine (phenergan w/ codeine) is or was being manufactured by the following pharmaceutical companies: Alpharma Actavis (NDC is 0472-1627-16) Tris Pharma Inc. (NDC is 27808-065-01) Sun Pharma Inc. (NDC is 57664-185-31) Qualitest Pharma (NDC is 0603-1585-58) Hi-Tech Pharma I didn't see Watson listed, but Actavis bought them out a long time ago, so I'd imagine that their version ended up taking Watson's place. Apparently they came in one pint (473 mL) bottles. I hope this info helps!

How can I locate pharmacies in the Los Angeles, Southern California area that carries Phenergan (Promethazine) with Codeine Cough Syrup manufactured by Actavis? ## There is really no way of knowing which pharmacy is going to have any particular manufacturer's product in stock, because when it comes to generics, it can vary, depending on what company was offering the cheapest price, when they had to restock their supply. The only thing I can really suggest is going to the pharmacies and asking them. Since this contains Codeine, you'll likely not get an accurate answer, if you just call and ask. I was told that the company Allergan is making a codeine with promethazine cough syrup previously manufactured by actavis is this true? ## @Mike, According to Allergan's product page (linked below), they do make Promethazine HCL (6.25 mg) + Codeine Phosphate (10 mg) syrup listed under the "Actavis Rx Product Catalog" on page 27 here: allergan.com/Actavis/media/PDFDocuments/2013_US_Rx_Product_Catalog.pdf. Based on the information in that link I think you're right that the formula could've been acquired from Actavis. I'm told that since the Watson company was sold, that their name would not be on the promethazine + codeine prescription anymore. Is that true? ## @Jabnet, Interestingly enough, even though Watson is now known as Actavis, for the longest time I've continued to see the Watson logo still depicted on many of their tablets. However, what makes this even more confusing is that as of August 2016, Actavis was acquired by Teva; so it would probably be difficult to tract down the Watson name on various products if they keep passing the baton from one company to the next every few years. Furthermore, Teva's webpage lists their promethazine and codeine as separate meds (not as a combination product). There are some products available that contain Hydrocodone, rather than Codeine, so your doctor may be able to prescribe one of them, if you inform them of your problem. Here's some definitive info from Actavis who bought out Watson. fioricet.com Briefly: New formulation is out because of FDA requirements (reduces Tylenol from 325 to 300). No change to Butalbital or caffeine mg's Tablets are discontinued. Only capsules are available. The formulation without Codeine is NOT a schedule III drug (Actavis received an FDA exemption) If your doc writes for tabs you may want to discuss having him alter the scrip so that it doesn't get bounced. The good news is that it looks like the Brand Name will still be available. I had GREAT luck with West Ward for over 30 years. Are blue 10mg diazepam marked above the score line with an A and below 278 smiley like logo on back real? ## Sound like diazepam produced by Crescent pharma. I just got some yellow 5mg ones with a crescent armed on one side a A 273 embossed on the other side, separated by a score. I wonder, are yours blue and the 10mg version. These diazepam are totally legit and have the stated dose contained within each I'm almost positive. At this point I want to start the ball rolling to get a class action suit against Actavis for the pain and suffering caused by their so-called oxycontin meds! I, too, had a similar story about the lack of pain relief, not to mention the uncomfortable GI symptoms and headache. It felt like I took a Benadryl/Codeine medication--both of which I never tolerated well. On top of that, after reporting my complaint to Actavis, they claimed their med was just fine. The FDA sent me a form to fill out. Instead of focusing their investigation on the inferior Actavis medication, the FDA form asked for all kinds of personal medical information about me! This has been a cruel and inhumane situation and I want to fight back!
