Is amox-clav 875 still good if the used by date 6-18-14? ## Hello, LAS! How are you? Medications tend to degrade over time and become less effective, storage conditions can also play a role in that. When it comes to antibiotics, any lessening of efficacy creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, so it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and non-allergic skin rash. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I had Titus about six months ago and they gave me a Z pack so it didn't work in my lungs. I have been messed up for a while now. And I just stopped smoking. I was wondering if I could use my old bottle as it still has the 20 in it and has been opened but there is a little thing in there to make them last longer and stay fresh. It's says discard after 9/4/2016. I was really hoping to use these due to financial reasons. I read they will lose potency after 18 months. Am I ok? Thank you very much. I appreciate the answer. ## What are you trying to treat? I am sorry, but you really haven't provided a lot of details. Do you currently have some type of infection that requires an antibiotic? You mentioned what it was prescribed for 6 months ago, but not why you feel the need to ...

Hello, I (adult) was prescribed 875MG tablets of AMOX/CLAV - 1 tablet 2x a day for strep throat over a month ago but I am now better. My daughter who is 7 weighs 45 pounds has strep now and I have about 18 Augmenton pills left over. What is the dosage for her age? She has had to take pills in the past and I was going to break them up for the correct dosage but i'm not sure what that is. Her insurance does not kick in until the 1st of the month so if it possible just to give her my leftover meds it would save me a ton of money that I don't really have. If it is not possible then I would of course take her into the Dr. ## Hello, Beth! How is your daughter? No, it is never a good idea to try to dose a child with something that was prescribed for an adult. She may not even have an i...

It may take a week or two for things with your body to fully return to normal, after finishing your course of treatment with it. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. I accidentally took 1 875 amox clav at 6 am and another at 10 am could this be harmful? ## Hello, Mamba! How are you? You may experience more nausea, diarrhea and dizziness than normal, but it's not really dangerous to double up, unless you're allergic to it. However, you may end up one short on finishing the full course of treatment, so you should check this out with your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need a patient assistance application for brand name valium, a product of Roche Pharmaceuticals. Do they still have a program and if so, what is the phone number? ## In most cases, once a medication is available as a generic, the name brand manufacturer stops offering an assistance program. However, you may be able to receive help from a program called Rx OutReach, some medications they provide are available at only $20 for a 180 day supply. You can call them to see if you qualify at 888-796-1234. You can also send them a fax at 800-875-6591.
