I can argue though that there is an article on a study done here in the states, where cancer patients were randomly assigned to receive methadone 7.5 mg orally every 12 hours for 4 weeks. So I do believe it is available, but maybe only prescribed under specific circumstances. I could be wrong, but as of yet I have not come across anything stating otherwise. Can you break the methadone 10mg into half?? ## Dear Samantha, yes, u can break them in half. It might b easier 2 get a pill cutter. They work great. U can get them at cvs or pretty much any pharmacy. They r sold over the counter. ## Yes as far as I know, personally have broken in half over ten years. Have chronic pain and when I was not in as much pain I often only took half (5 mg.). Contact your pharmacist first, if you call your Dr. they might decrease dose, feeling you don't need as much, I am assuming you take for pain relief. If so may days you will need dose prescribed.
