Zenoxa 150mg

My daughter (7 years), takes 3 Zenoxa 150mg daily (in total 450mg). I can see almost all side effects which are mentioned for Oxcarbazepine, the side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision are quite noticeable.

Doctor says to continue this medicine for another 2 year or more. But looking at her current state, I am worried about her in general fitness. She is not able to pay any attention to studies also. Can anyone suggest any natural way to cure this? Like excersice, yoga, specific food etc. I don't want to go for zenoxa now for 2 or more years from now.

Sorry to hear about what your daughter is going through. If you don't mind me asking, exactly what condition(s) did her doctor prescribe this drug for? I'm asking because I see that Oxcarbazepine can be prescribed for a variety of reasons, and it would be helpful to know so that some research can be done for you into possible holistic treatments...

Thanks for the reply Roy. My daughter has petit mal type of epilepsy. Just to elaborate this term which I know (and I observed below symptoms in her during attack)
She gets an attack and goes within a few seconds. The patient has a momentary loss of consciousness, with no convulsions except sometimes a slight rifidity, or there may be slight attack of convulsions such as a jerk, or movement of the eyes, head trunk or extremities, with no perceptible loss of consciousness. The patient may not fall. He may suddenly stop what he is doing and then resume it when the attack is over, without even being aware of what has happened. Petit mal attacks may occur at any time in life but are most frequent in children.

My 9 years old daughter has recently been detected epileptic. She got a total of 4-5 attacks (once in a year). Since last three weeks she is taking Zenoxa 150. Now she has started taking 3 tablets per day from yesturday. Even then she got one attack 3 days before, only after a gap of two months. I would like to know that the frequency of attack may increase after taking medicine. Should she continue this medicine. She is also showing some constipation.

My son is 7 years old. He start getting seizure when he was 4 years old. Doctor started zenoxa 450 mg daily. Now he is on 675 mg daily as he strat getting seizures in starting of this year. Seizure always comes in the early morning when he is in bed. His eyes goes sideways, chews in mouth and doesn't respond, this stays for few seconds. After that when he wakes up he is complaining about headache. We recently have done EEG and doctor says there is minor abnormality. Is there anything that I can do for my son.

I am on this medicine from 7 april 2006 and still on it just fed up of this medicine let me tell u everyone its side effects are not good i have got double vision vertigo migrane shivering hearable heartbeat low bp or high i have lost concentration in every activity like sports studies etc :-(
