Anytime you have a problem with your prescribed medication it is important to inform your prescriber, which you state you have done. If your prescriber is unwilling to help you with your problem, ask him/her WHY he/she has taken that position. There may be a valid reason why he has taken this position.
However, your prescriber SHOULD be able to offer alternative treatment, dosage forms, or some other way to alleviate your pain. Timing of your dosage forms could also have a positive effect for you.
In the event that you feel you are being ignored as to your medication needs, by all means seek treatment elsewhere. Unfortunately. doctors today are "gun shy" about prescribing narcotic analgesics (for a number of reasons). As a result, it is the patient that suffers. Just remember who is paying for his new yacht, and putting his brat through Harvard - that person is YOU. Save your money for a physician who is responsive to your needs as a patient! Of course, you must do your part being a responsible patient, as well. That means not asking for a refill of your prescription too far in advance, asking for an increase in dosage too frequently, replacing your prescription for "the prescription that you lost", etc.
The very best of luck to you in finding a responsive provider, and a rapid solution to your pain.

I have been taking oxycodone 10/325for many years and I am also taking ibuprofen 800mg and a cream called voltaren-gel1%and I don't get much relief from it like I did 23yrs ago. What can I ask my dr for that would help relieve the pain more and make it a little more relieving for myself. I have taken the hydrocodone but I would end up taking more of them then I will have to go ask a friend of mine who has pain meds to CV help me out. I can get a better relief from oxycodone 30mg but my dr of the pain management I go to will not give me any thing stronger,should I check into switching DR's an pain management. Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for me. Thank you

I ha e been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for numerous yrs but every 8 months a or so I would ask Dr to switch to oxicodone for a script I did this to switch up my bodies reaction to the pain medication and help with keeping my body from building up a resistance to the hydrocodone ..... it seems to work for me

This tablet contain 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so yes, it's a generic for Lortab, Vicodin or Norco.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
