Xtampza Equivalent Amounts For Oxycontin (Top voted first)

Can anyone tell me if Xtampza works the same as oxycontin, and strength comparisons of mg between the two?
If I take 60mg of oxycontin what would be equivalent for the Xtampza?
I plan on switching for financial reasons but of cannot get same relief then idk.

Xtampza is actually a little stronger than Oxycontin, for example if you were taking 40mgs of Oxycontin, you'd only need to take 36mgs of the Xtampza.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, if you are looking for a cheaper option, this isn't likely going to help, since Xtampza is very new and new medications tend to have very high prices.

If you want something that is cheaper, you may want to ask your doctor about trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so it may be your least expensive option.
