Xolair, Asthma Reaction

We were in an area of high mold content--Xolair does not help mold allergies. Started having asthma, and began prednisone. 6 days after starting prednisone I had my Xolair injection (Doc said it would be fine). 2 days following Xolair injection my asthma got much worse despite increasing prednisone to 40mg.
Has anyone had a similar experience, i.e. Xolar injection, then onset of severe asthma.

Hello, Rk! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having.

You actually need to be on the Xolair for awhile, before it will start working to reduce your asthma symptoms. Having an allergy attack that close to it being administered didn't even give it a chance to start working to prevent it. It doesn't work like antihistamines and rescue inhalers do.

Do you have a rescue inhaler that you use? If so, you should still keep it around and not just rely on the Xolair.

The typical side effects of Xolair, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include itching, mild rash, redness, joint pain and bone fractures.
