Xarelto And Arthrotec

I seem to be doing fine with the xarelto, but my arthritis is killing me without my prescription pain reliever, Arthrotec. Does anyone take arthrotec with Xarelto? If not, what pain killer can I take? I tried an opiod and it made me foggy and unsteady on my feet. I am sensitive to meds and arthrotec really helped me, which is why I miss it so much.

Hi Judy,

According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there ARE interactions listed between Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) and Arthrotec (Diclofenac sodium). The interaction goes on to state that taking these two drugs together may increase your risk of bleeding. Furthermore, they recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any of the following side effects, such as long lasting nose bleeds, dark or bloody vomit, unusual bleeding, becoming bruised easily, or having blood in your stool/urine.

However, if you truly need to use both medications at once. you and your doctor can determine a dosage and dosing schedule that works in your favor to minimize these risk factors.

I am on Xarelto now and my doctor will not renew my prescription for Arthrotec . My pain is crippling without my Arthrotec. I hurt so bad and can hardly use my arms for driving ,doing my hair, i hurt so bad I can hardly turn over in bed. I would rather be dead than go without my Arthrotec It totally takes care of the imflamation in my joints.. Please help me Susan
