Withdrawal From Vyvanse (Page 22)

My son had a terrible experience on wyvance. He has phyciatic systems to include halluciations. The doctor took him off the drup cold turkey and Ihe seems to be having withdrawal systems? Is that normal?

I brought my adderall Xanax and subutex scripts to Mexico and then realized I had a pharmacy in the building I stayed in. So when I ran out of adderall I went there and got vyvanse. I loved it. I think it’s got a way “cleaner” feeling to it. Adderall jus had 4 different kinds of amphetamines in it, vyvanse only has one.

I’m sorry to hear that! I take Adderall (off and on for years) and my symptoms return when I don’t take it, but I don’t any withdrawals.

I've just started vyvanse - only taking it for 2-3 months. The withdrawal from amphetamine usually includes sleepiness, extreme thirst and hunger. These symptoms do not last long. I would say no longer than a weekend - but I am not your son. I take 50mg per day; skip a day and I notice nothing. This stuff (vyvanse) is probably one of the best adHd meds I have ever tried. One of the hardest things is to figure out the correct dose.

IMHO, withdrawal may resemble the original symptoms. This stuff is tricky to use but it does work for those that it works for.

yes. This is because the pharmacies and the generic drugs are so poor these days that insurance wants to know if you are getting the right drug. IMHO

Why would you put your five year old son on anything. He’s a kid! Gateway to drugs when he gets older. Don’t give him anything!!

In my experience its necessary to taper off psychiatric drugs. Especially id your son was taking more than 20 mg. I am curious what side effects he is having?
