Withdraw From Perphenazine/amitriptyline

My aunt was taken to the hospital and the doctor in the emergency room stopped her perphenazine/amitriptyline after taking it for 30 years. Now she is in a state that doctors cannot understand. Did the stopping of her meds cause this?

Yes, both Perphenazine and Amitriptyline are medications that work on brain chemicals and stopping them abruptly may result in both withdrawal and rebound effects, which could put her in a very bad state.
