my directions said no asprin and etc 5 days prior to the proceedure in case polups have to be removed should i stop the suboxen as well

Hi sawbuck,

I have read reports of Suboxone patients being advised to stop the Suboxone 24 hours before the procedure, but since the drug is so strong I don't believe that 24 hours would be enough time to rid it from your system. A few days might not even be enough time depending on how long you've been taking it. I can't say for sure if it will cause your blood to thin, I haven't read any reports of that happening.

The most important thing is to let your doctor (and the nurse staff who will be assisting you) know that you are taking Suboxone and let them know about your concerns. I've read that if the Suboxone is still in your system, there shouldn't be any complications as long as an opiate isn't used during/after the procedure. If an opiate is used (and not another for of anesthesia) you may feel no relief and could be quite uncomfortable.
