I started Chantix a week ago and still have the same urge to smoke the same amount and it doesn't taste different or anything. I am under an extreme amount of stress which makes me crave my nicotine so could that be causing the Chantix not to work? Ive taken Chantix before and within a few days cigarettes started tasting funny to me and within like a week and a half I was done and I quit for almost a year. This time completely not even working, WHY?

It could be the extra stress or you may have just become tolerant to the Chantix, since you've taken it before.
Have you discussed the issue with your prescriber? Has it started to help, at all, yet?
