Will One 500mg Cipro Withdrawals From Methadone Maintenance

I'm on 75mg methadone maintenance. I accidentally took a 500mg cipro. Just one. Will I go into withdrawels

I've never heard of cipro causing withdrawals. Cipro is an antibiotic used for a number of different infections. Have you read about cipro and methadone? I mean, read about them not interacting well together? I've never heard or read this before and I have been a nurse for 24 years. I will have to look this one up. Now, a med called naltrexone will cause withdrawals.... called precipitated withdrawals.....if taken too soon before actual Withdrawal from narcotics starts. Are you confusing these two meds, maybe?

While cipro will not cause withdrawls it CAN cause methadone toxicity. You seem to be ok now but please do not take cipro with methadone.....there are far better antibiotics for people on methadone. I did read up on it after responding to this of unknown reactions such as Withdrawl, from these two combined. So, stay away from cipro!

I take 20-30 mg of methadone daily and was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for a severe uti and a bug. I was told it can cause heart arthinia but that only usually happens in people take high dosages. Will it be alright for me to take?

No,the Cipro will make you feel a little crappy for awhile. Or it does me that way,but then all antibiotics make me feel awful! But no cipro won't throw you into withdrawals on Methadone.
