Will It Help A Tooth Ache?

I have a bad toohe infection under of one of my molars should i be taking 1, 500 mg Ciprfloxacin will it help? I also take methodone 30 mg will that interfere? Thank u for a response!

Ciprofloxacin WILL NOT relieve the pain of a toothache, however, if you have an infection, it WILL help clear it up, because this is an antibiotic.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.

Have taken Ciprofloxacin -500mg twice a day for 10 days for toothache along with ibupofen for some pain, when needed. Last dose was today.Toothache was not at worst when the antibiotic was started 10 days ago. There is a filling in this tooth. I still feel discomfort and pressure like it may start up again and have to be careful not to put much pressure on the area. I have severe gingivitis. I cannot go to a dentist for a while. Should I try and get the doctor to give me a refill of this, or something else,since I competed the dosage? What can I do about this infection and possible severe pain to come until I can see a dentist?
