Will Fentanyl Show Up In Drug Test As An Opiate (Page 4)

Man the amount of people who have no clue what they are talking about yet spitting advice on it like they are an expert is bewildering. NO FENTANYL does not show up as an opiate on any test anywhere. In fact the only things that will show up as an opiate are morphine, codeine, and heroin and that is because heroin and morphine metabolize into morphine. Not even oxycodone or hydrocodone can be detected as an opiate they have to be specifically tested for as they metabolize differently, same with methadone, methadone has to be specifically tested for, it will not show up as anything but methadone. So unless the test you are taking is specifically testing for fentanyl then you will be fine. The question is whether or not the test you are taking is testing for fentanyl. I have yet to see a piss test that does test for it. Even if they sent it to a lab for testing they would have to tell the lab what to look for and that they specifically want to know if fentanyl metabolites are present. Anyone that tells you anything different from this has no clue what they are talking about or how opiates and their derivatives are detected after use. Drugs that have been taken are detected by looking for what they metabolize into, in the body and no two drugs metabolize the same unless they are from the same base as I explained in the beginning. Codeine, opium, heroin, and morphine are all detected as opiates because they are all made from opium. An opioid is not made from opium, they just have a somewhat similar structure and create the same effect by binding to the same receptors, but they in no way metabolize into the same metabolites which is essentially the by product of the chemical after the body has processed it. Stinkerbell I don't think you're comprehending that these fellas are saying that Fentanyl won't show up as an OPIATE, not just that it's detected. Ofcourse it can be detected if you're looking for it specifically, I'm pretty sure that's standard knowledge, so you're posts are pretty pointless regardless of how long you've been working in a lab & however many different ways you try to explain your point. I'm sure you're good at your job but I think you're missing the point of the post. Just sayin'.

No it doesn't not on a strip test unless they put it on there specifically he's 100% right the opiate test is checking for morphine in your system and while OxyContin and fentynal are classed as opiates they don't show up on the test not as an opiate because it's not the same chemical it's synthetic made its similar to morphine same same but different! But still same!

I totally disagree with you 100% I've been taking actiq fentanyl lollipops for 8 years and I get tested every 6 months and it shows up in my urine test right away so wherever you got your information regarding fentanyl not showing up in a urine test I'm sorry to say but you're crazy go back and learn before you post something like that thank you

Tomtom if it shows up as fentynal then they are testing for fentynal maybe you go learn something before you make a post. What do you think you're a scientist because you take fentynal?

Fentanyl does show up.....as fentanyl. Yes, some clinics specifically test for it, lIke my pain management clinic. nothing else shows up as fen other than fen. Nothing. My advice, unless u have an rx, stay away from it, it will pop up hot. The clinic can give you a list of everything they test for on a print out so you don't have to wonder.or at least mine does.

Hi. Is this still true today, that you have not tested positive for opioids while wearing a Fentanyl Patch?
I'll be taking random urinalysis drug tests and I want to wear a Fentanyl Patch. I'm afraid I'll fail for opioids.

Then I wonder why some in this post session are saying they failed. Maybe because their UA's specifically are testing for Fentanyl. My worry is that Fentanyl is an opiate. Afraid for failing for opiates

Not in Australia...haha. I had a prescription in February. And I have one more patch from that prescription. I intend to put it on because I'm in a lot of pain. Doctor won't give me a new prescription. I have to see pain management for pain MedsChat but can't afford to.
Since it's an old prescription I'm worried for failing a urine drug test.

Because the test they use that shows as an opiate is testing for morphine and since fentynal is a synthetic knock off of it it needs a different test

Wendy you are flat out wrong.fentanyl wont show as Opiate or opioid. Oxy Won't either. I was Passing 14 panel tests for years on oxy. The only tests that will show are Specifically for oxy or a GCMS test which requires lab. I KNOW this first hand but you can always do a search if you don't believe me. Please don't give misinformation to people.

I ran out of oxycodone and have taken hydrocodone to combat withdrawls. I also have a rx for opana, but it does nothing for my symptoms. Someone has ogfered me morohine to help the withdrawls. I have a ua on monday afternoon. Is it safe to take the morphine on saturday so i can work?

Seriously WRONG! I have Fentanyl in my pain pump, it sure does show up on a drug screen. Pre-employment especially. I did an OTC test and showed positive for opiates. So....not sure where you get your info.
