Will Fentanyl Show Up In Drug Test As An Opiate (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Man the amount of people who have no clue what they are talking about yet spitting advice on it like they are an expert is bewildering. NO FENTANYL does not show up as an opiate on any test anywhere. In fact the only things that will show up as an opiate are morphine, codeine, and heroin and that is because heroin and morphine metabolize into morphine. Not even oxycodone or hydrocodone can be detected as an opiate they have to be specifically tested for as they metabolize differently, same with methadone, methadone has to be specifically tested for, it will not show up as anything but methadone. So unless the test you are taking is specifically testing for fentanyl then you will be fine. The question is whether or not the test you are taking is testing for fentanyl. I have yet to see a piss test that does test for it. Even if they sent it to a lab for testing they would have to tell the lab what to look for and that they specifically want to know if fentanyl metabolites are present. Anyone that tells you anything different from this has no clue what they are talking about or how opiates and their derivatives are detected after use. Drugs that have been taken are detected by looking for what they metabolize into, in the body and no two drugs metabolize the same unless they are from the same base as I explained in the beginning. Codeine, opium, heroin, and morphine are all detected as opiates because they are all made from opium. An opioid is not made from opium, they just have a somewhat similar structure and create the same effect by binding to the same receptors, but they in no way metabolize into the same metabolites which is essentially the by product of the chemical after the body has processed it. Thank you for finally telling the truth. Why some people think Fentanyl would show up on a urine test makes no sense to me. Just like suboxone, I took a full 8 mg suboxone 15 minute before I went and took my screening and my PO said I was clean. I wish these people especially the doctors and other health professionals need to go back to college. Scary to think these are the people we put our precious lives in their hands.

Who are you talking about? What the original poster states is 100% fact. But they're referencing fentanyl not hydrocodone

I also am a pipeliner. All those u mentioned shows up when u sign up or a random. The reason why u think none of it shows up is because dot testing labs are linked to a national prescription database. Let's say u r positive on opiates. They search and see if u had a prescription within the last year. If you haven't then it's sent off to a gastrometer to see exactly what opiate and then you receive a phone called

You have no idea what you are saying . I take hydrocodone and I change my patch every 48 hours, and I just had a urine test that came up negative. I had a blood draw , and it still can not determine which one is which. I am sitting in front of the doctors, and he doesn't believe that I am taking my meds. I recently had back surgery, I broke my back and had a triple lamìnectomy. So you tell me what I do now

No it doesn't not on a strip test unless they put it on there specifically he's 100% right the opiate test is checking for morphine in your system and while OxyContin and fentynal are classed as opiates they don't show up on the test not as an opiate because it's not the same chemical it's synthetic made its similar to morphine same same but different! But still same!

Fentanyl does show up.....as fentanyl. Yes, some clinics specifically test for it, lIke my pain management clinic. nothing else shows up as fen other than fen. Nothing. My advice, unless u have an rx, stay away from it, it will pop up hot. The clinic can give you a list of everything they test for on a print out so you don't have to wonder.or at least mine does.

Seriously WRONG! I have Fentanyl in my pain pump, it sure does show up on a drug screen. Pre-employment especially. I did an OTC test and showed positive for opiates. So....not sure where you get your info.

Like the majority are saying and exactly as "elemental" states.... Fentanyl pain patch will NOT show up as anything except Fentanyl. I get drug tested randomly. I've already had about 7 urinalysis since I last posted my concern over this matter and it was not detected.
I'm in DWI court, a program we have here as an option instead of jail time.
Anyway, they do send it to a lab and they do not test for Fentanyl.
Good luck but you won't need it unless they are testing for Fentanyl

Actually, I know from experience that oxycodone, roxicodone, percocets do not show up as opiates on a urine drug screen. As far as codeine, morphine, hydrocodone those break down the same way heroin does and all of those will make you test positive for opiates. Oxycodone has to be specifically tested for.

It will not show up unless it's being testes for fentynl. If you read what elemental posted, there's your answer. There's quite a few posters that can become a little rude if they disagree, so please ignore the competition part of how this can becom .

Personally, I was drug tested with the patch on for 2 days and past. Our drug testes are sent to a lab.

But as I said, read elementals post. 100% correct.

That's crazy Josh, thank you for getting back with the results you found out because I had the same thing happen to me years ago with cocaine. I hate coke and would never do it but I handled it and it showed positive on my test. I was shocked I couldn't believe that could happen but it did.

Buying kratom from a store is not the best way to get quality kratom. Order online from a kratom supplier. Do a little research on the internet to find which strain is best for you.

I have to agree with you on this. My doctor does do tests for Fentanyl, and bam I got caught. I have no idea as to what it shows up as. I only know that it's not an opiate and would not show on the current urine tests he was using. Then all these big shots start dying and he changes up. I was lucky he gave me another chance so even with it sitting on my cabinet it's not in me. If it's a urine test fine, but if they switch up on you count on getting cut off or for those of you on probation a ride back to jail. Even though the Internet is the Gathering Place for all miss information the replies you get from most of the users here is spot on. Frankly if you find yourself having to hit the streets for a bump talk to your doctor and just ask why risk it.

This is not accurate. I also am living proof! A specific test has to be done to find fentanyl. For exsample, I was recently busted for a dui(driving under the suspicion of drugs) and it required a blood test that took over a month to come back with the results. No heroin(which comes back as morphine), but my celexa and fentanyl came back, with the specific levels. Not only was i completely shocked that I was using 100% fentanyl, but I couldnt believe that my freaking celexa came up on the test!

I have a question: I am going to a methadone clinic to get off of Blue Oxy M30's....I take the blue oxy M30s but when the clinic gave me a UA I came out dirty for fentanyl..I don't understand how or why...And I recently got put on probation and I took a pill (Blue oxy M30) the night before I went to probation and that Morning at probation they tested me with a mouth swab and I came out clean...I have continued to take it and I have given 4 UA's that have been sent to a lab at probation and Nothing has come up..My husband has taken them too and he gave a UA as well and he came out clean...why at the methadone clinic does it come out as fentanyl..but at probation we come out clean..please HELP ME.

Sorry pharmacist, fentanyl is on "opioid" not an "opiate" and as a pharmacist you should know that. Standard EMIT tests (the pee in this cup/dipstick style test) do not typically test for fentanyl as its metabolites (primarily norfentanyl) are not among those tested. Now, that's not to say a lab could not test for fentanyl, just that the standard 5 panel screen will absolutely NOT pop positive if fentanyl is the only narcotic you've been doing.
